This could be a very therapeutic thread....

Music is pure raw emotion, and can really sneak up on you when you least expect it.

What's the most depressing track or tracks that you can think of right now? Ya' know, the ones that make you want to mentally implode into an internal free-fall. (Artists are extra susceptible to this.) Sometimes it's not the whole song, but a certain section (e.g....first 2 minutes of Stairway to Heaven) - if so, then start the song from there, or add time location point in your post.

Could be an old song from the 60s. Maybe a concert piece or orchestral piece from a movie soundtrack; obscure live street performance - who knows?

I'll start....

This song makes me want to freak out. Had it in my head for like 72 hours - all 3 days, and that sucks. I don't even have to pay attention to the meaning of 80% of the words. The timbres, the choice of instrumentation in the mix and haunting melodies are really doin' it (the mental sadness) for me.

Post it.

....Tinges of big city nostalgia and melancholy are welcome too.
