Ahh okej i see.. Well i havnt had any issues so i havnt had any reason to go and look and forums etc. Actually i havnt had any issues at all with any of their plugins. Using BFD3, Geist1 n 2, Tremor etc and as said no porblems what so ever. But if there is something going on and they are not planing to update or actually have the FXpansions line in their catalog then maybe its time to look around for substitutes. Will be hard to replace BFD3 even if SD3 is awesome, it dont come close when it comes to raw sound. For the others maybe its more easy, anyone have any suggetions?

But as said, even Roli and their support has replied and helped me out pretty fast even if it was just minor things regarding one expansion. But thx for the heads up as i dont wanna stand there with my nose in the dirt in the near future with. So any suggestions of replacements would be very nice..

And really sad that this happend to cakewalk..

I didn't use Geist but for BFD I must say, it wasn't fun to use it. Was a pain to authorize Expansions, had a lot of Bugs, hangs and imperfections. Some Expansions I were not even able to install correctly.
I switched to Superior Drummer (now 3) and have no problems anymore. Everything just works now. SDX sound quality is as far as I can say the same. A lot easier to use with my Roland TD30 via Midi.
To be honest I liked the BFD3 more tenical approach compared to SD. But just too much trouble.

Someone said in the forum, SD (compared to BFD3) is for housewives. OK, may be I'm a housewife

Well.. as im a legit user of maybe that is the problem so many has with the authorize thing.. i dont know. So i can compare them both side by side and sure there is a diffrence. Rather big even. Knowing SD3 is more premixed also means that most sets sounds alike, you can hear its toontrack. But using the layer/sampler function makes it fun and fast to use when building drums. But when it comes to use them in production the go to is BFD3. You can ofc layer drums there aswell but depending on what you got at hand. So its not so much about sound quality. Both are really good so its more about how they are processed.

And stuff like Perfect Drums is just a joke.. it was so promising for a fast workflow, with some really nice pre mixed presets that cut through the mix pretty nice but damn they fooled me big time. Their update is a joke and the time it took to get it out i cant understand since none of the things they should have done was done. The price they had during black friday is maybe worth the money but not a penny over. They blew it.. and im happy i manage to sell it for some desent money back..

There are some really nice sounding Kontakt libs out there like ocean waves etc but Kontakt is a joke to route when it comes to drums. Even if the freedom and options to layer sounds is making up for it. But still it just dont come out as i wish.

So hopefully, i case things go wrong with FXpansion and Roli some new company will make a good a substitude for their BFD3.

I dont know about that, and even if that person has a point i think that a housewife that use SD3 must be rocking big time..

I don't use BDF3 or similar plugs so I can't advise for a replacement, but that's the problem with geist2, it's pretty freaking unique, I' ve tried other seq/drum machine/samplers nothing comes even close. I really hope they come around. I also have tremor, and the thing didn't get any update in maybe two years. It's also an excellent product, it would deserve a devellopment....I'm not even talking about their fxs (maul, etch, bloom), dead in the water for years. This use to be one of my fav dev, they do unique products, high quality ones at that. When the buy out news from Roli came in, I thought it might be a good news, maybe they would get more firepower, so far it actually did the opposite. In the meanwhile I'm stuck with GST2, and I pray so that an update of one of my daws don't break it.

There must be a reason why ROLI bought FXpansion. When you think about what they have at the moment, it's their "keyboards" Seaboards, the Blocks and Equator.
How fits BFD and Geist into their portfolio? ATM they have a promo for buying a Seaboard and giving BFD3 away for free (w/o libs I guess only factory). But I'm wondering how it would make sense to play the drums with the Seaboard's silicone keyboard. :)
As for Geist it makes more sense. Geist is a smaple player, is flexible and has tons of expansions. If they can integrate their very own Seaboard "5D system " into Geist, that makes sense. Even though they have their Equator synth. So I think there is hope for Geist to survive in a way.

If that could happen that would be awesome. It would make more sense then to just unplug a product that sells well since its conception (guru), has always had a solid reputation and is now well known. If indeed Roli integrate it with its products in the future, then the guys at fxpansion should let their customers know about it, cause they are getting some pretty bad press about it right now.
