I actually live about 500 yards from the real Slim Pickens place, here in Middleburg, Florida..

I see his son check his mail once in a while, He's probably 70 now... The place has a ranch style horseshoe looking sign over the front gate.. it reads 'Woodpecker Heaven'

In the back, there is a pool, u can see its in dis-repair now, but the spiral slide is still standing..theres also an old tour bus, way in the back.

I always imagine what the parties must have been like in the 60's when dude was in his prime.. and it was probably a dirt.. road that led out to his place.. which looks.. by all accounts to be dozens of acres.

Life is fleeting.....
