Sucka, I'm gonna MAKE YOU respect me...lol. I'm gonna sample Depeche Mode's "Enjoy The Silence" and "Nine Inch Nails' "Head Like A Hole" and I'm gonna SERVE YOU!

Give me a week. You're gonna respect the art!

It's not simply a matter of copying and pasting. There's reinterpretation, splicing, mixing, stretching, new grooves, new rhythms, adding new emotions...updating, defiling, iconoclasticism, etc...and yes, ADDING YOUR OWN harmonies and chord progressions to the sample.

P.S. Bob Dylan "sampled" his whole early catalogue from local folk (gospel and Blues) tunes.

    GIVE ME A WEEK!

I don't really care how you got there... nor that you sampled a pop tart princess.. but you did show how easy it can be
to improve on the horrid crap the music industry is churning out... everything about that video/ and its "music" screams
FORMULA! ... your track took away my urge to barf... thanks for the antidote... nice beat too

P.S. take 2 weeks.. take a month... just be aware that you have a tough crowd here
and that many here are doing this at a pro or semi-pro level...and they are probably
just as critical of their own stuff as yours...

that's why I only share my stuff with easily impressed females that have pretty much ZERO
    knowledge of music production... :bleh:

ok .. enjoy the flames.. and just keep making your beats...

if you stick around for a few years you might notice that people start to
say all or most of your stuff is cool.. and has merit .. with little tweaks etc...

weird how music often ends up being a lot about marketing and propaganda
so that it ends up being a hit because of promo.. rather than it actually being
    something "good"

Miley Cyrus pranced around in fake boobs and a strap-on while performing
her mindless drivel... and became a millionaire

If she did it.. I'm sure you could too !!

    "Beatmaking Is A Legitimate Artform"

Of course it is... and that Artform is called Beatmaking. :)

Now, what remains, is to see if "Beatmaking" has anything to do with that other Artform called "Music"

@black.afrika.zulu.x You're trying to prove your way of thinking about a particular style that some people would like or won't for whatever reason.

You know Art is not Science. Science is based on powerful and usually always-true facts and dealing with it emotionally is totally senseless but art is a different realm. It's based on aesthetical aspects of the nature of human's life and it's a highly fluid term from one time to another and from one place to another one so please don't try to prove anything. It's just a fraternal advice because I've gone that road previously here and nothing except some people's ignoring me has been achieved in my memoir. :winker:

@black.afrika.zulu.x see? This guy has been here over 2 years..and believe me he has taken verbal bashes ( multiple )
and has bounced back like a rubber Pink Panther with 9 lives.. .. Now his threads dealing with musical philosophy and the heartbreak
of having nil artistic inspiration have won him many admirers and literally pages of responses... despite all he has achieved his
measure of fame/infamy , who cares if it's a lot of negative attention anyway :bleh:

Was it Gene Simmons back in the day who was taking heat for spitting up blood on stage and generally being gross.. who said..
"Any press is good press ! " ?

After reading my reply, I think I need to clarify that I wasn't trying to bash you. anyway, all I say is do your thing and if it sounds good, you'll find your audience. and who knows? maybe you could run for president and legitimize this :hillbilly:

Alright @SineWave and @Herr Durr, I took this soulless, vampire music (namely, Depeche Mode's "Enjoy The Silence") and put some Black Magic on it! These are the results:

You "pros" can mull over the arrangement (or, lack thereof) all you want or criticise the mix...fuck all that! It is what it is!

    P.S. Here's the original:

You clearly have the shittiest musical taste, when you say that about Depeche Mode.
    You have what? 12 years?

Man I changed my mind. Yes it's a form of art. Making music is sound generation and playing with the generated sounds and arranging them in an emotional way. If it is more emotional then the listener would say it's more artistic.

From the physics' perspective no matter what the source material is. A guitar, piano, drum machine, samples, etc. Your fierce opponents are the ones that think they can generate better sounds with their acoustic instruments and fingers directly touching them and also emotionally are superior than the ones working with computer programs. This view is regarded highly but for me the source material and the tools manipulating them would be anything. What matters most is arranging them in passionate ways that provokes the listener's excitement. If you're doing this you're making art. Furthermore if you respect some tonal guidelines, then your works definitely would be more exalted and you can tackle the outspoken critics of your works so easily.

Also appreciate alot for opening this thread.:bow::bow:

Work on your wit, bro. Hopefully, for your sake, your music is better than your wordplay.

i dont know anyone like that, where these folks located? haha

  16. I agree, using loops from sample packs and perhaps certain sounds that somebody else created is not art of your own creation, but to think that you can't take a sample or blip of audio and manipulate/mangle it so that even the original author wouldn't recognize it, then put it into your own mix much like a collage artist might work, and not think of it as an original piece of art (if it sounds good) is just idiocy. Even if a drum hit is recognized by the original author and it sounds amazing in the mix I don't see how that delegitimizes anything. How many times has an amen break been reused, ripped off, resampled, rebuilt, etc?

Now maybe @black.afrika.zulu.x is an undercover prodigy and his sounds vibrate the streets around the world but I'm having a hard time believing that anybody that big would come to audiosex.pro to talk down to people trying to learn the craft, doesn't sound too cool to me. If this guy is an example of exponential growth, he might want to check what he's growing into. Maybe it's one of those, "never meet your idols" situations. But if his "reality" works for him, he's certainly entitled to it. Wish he'd put his music out there for us to listen to so I know who not to support by mistake..

  17. Shit, this man doesn't know "reality" from Santa. Why did you make your original argument, you had no room to speak friend.

Everywhere bro, From the onset of instrumentalism to the current era. Every art creator has tried to promote their own way of artistry and demote the other ones that he/she doesn't like. Poor @black.afrika.zulu.x is at the demotion list of those instrumentalists and he just seeks to get out of that list and inculcates the value of his own art into those bad guys. They're so bad.:bleh:
