Yeah normally I never use heavy compression like this but to use some of the original tracks I had to kind of do it this way. My other 2 remixes have almost no compression but it was kind of a fast and dirty way to round out the track without going into each track and putting heavy processing on to match the new elements I used. I guess I could of just lowered all the new elements and then raised them all up together lol Guess you learn from every new project you make. It is over compressed but that was the sweet spot for blending all the elements without remixing each of the stem tracks.

    Decompressing/expanding the shit could help.

I also hear distortion. My meters showing red hot so it's hot.

They must have drove the hell out of the " KISS IT KISS IT " Adlib (you can tell during the first breakdown part) That's only really heard when you drive the volume though. I don't think theres any other track that is distorting like that.

You are for quite a long time at AS so don't get me wrong, please, but crossing 0db in audio track and main out can result very different audible distortion.
If you're working with for instance 32 bit floating point +16dbFS in audio track is no problem whereas just reaching 0db (could already happen at -0,2db) in main out will normally result in additional digital distortion and some soundcards react very sensitive to this.

I can't hear it unless I crank the volume in either my jbls sienheissers or car audio. Which means it should be OK in a club. But if you guys don't mind. Provide your opinion as to how I can treat the distortion but keep the same loudness level. Honestly I'm not sure thats possible. I hate to lose 1 DB but I think that would solve this problem. The only thing I hear distorting is the KISS KISS adlib on the breakdown, but if the whole thing is breaking up I'll just adjust the compressor gain and lose a little volume.

    Hi TruBlood,
    1. If some of the original tracks you are using are distorted you can't do anything about it, that's clear.
    2. If some of the original tracks you are using are overcompressed you can do something about it (see my post #23).
    3. If your track looks like a fat sausage, like my friend subGENRE said, you should do something about it.
    4. And of course you will loose some db rms to the benefit of sound.
    Got it?

And please stay below -0.2db in main out.

Thanks for the info. I try and stay .05 below 0 BD when I master. Especially when going to mp3.

-0.05db could be insufficient due to ISP (inter sample peaks) which could occur at ~ -0.2db.

Um, every club dj has faders on his mixer. If your track ceiling is - 0.3 (what I shoot for with - 8 lufs avg) The the dj will just tweak his deck faders to compesate for any differences. But if its too squashed he cant fix that and you will hear a noticable difference in the tracks being mixed especially the clarity

Ehm, if you are refering to my post there's maybe a misunderstanding. I'm talking about peak level. Nor does the dj recognize this neither has this a correlation to any avg level.
If you're not refering to my post forget it .

But "But if its too squashed he cant fix that and you will hear a noticable difference in the tracks being mixed especially the clarity" is of course right.
