I often have trouble with navigating keygens. I use Crossover on my Mac, but cannot access external hard drives. The top level I can reach is the Mac HDD and often generating offline authorisation files requires the use of an external source. How do I make all disks visible? My guess is you can't. So how do you save .auth files?

This is the most annoying thing right, they make an app for Mac but leave a windows keygen.

Have you tried the keygen app? it's much cleaner than using anything wine based.

Tried playonmac and same result. It won't place the *.auth file anywhere. It generates a serial and then it won't allow the auth file to be saved anywhere.

I remember that other drives on your system are not in the top domain, but in a different branch, under 'volumes'.

That sounds right. I'm sure I've seen it and will try it in the morning. <yawn>

I'm trying to locate external volumes from inside a keygen. Will that work?

yeah I've done it, you'll have to search for it. you need to look in the User library, its the one grayed out. and look for something related to wine or crossover and then type the auth file your looking for in the finder search bar, should turn up. leave the hidden files showing, its easier to find stuff...
