Appreciative that it wasn't a complete overhaul of the GUI.

obviously they advertise the new devices as the main show. but these aren't really what i am after- there are a lot of small changes coming, if you read thought them all you'll find some good ones. everything you've ever asked for? no way. but i am happy to see some things like multi midi editing and THANK GOD improved automation are coming. and if live 9 was anything to go by, lots lots lots more will come over the next 3 odd years (then a couple of years of really boring bug fixes haha)

The only thing that I don't like is that they didn't implement any new MIDI editing update like other daws like FL Studio, Cubase or Reaper.

Maybe some kind of Chord insert menu.
But overall, it's an 8/10 for me.

    Definitely waiting for this.

Just read this on Rekkerd's site: https://rekkerd.org/ableton-live-10-comes-with-new-wavetable-synth-re-designed-sound-library-more/

'Ableton Live 10 will be available in the first quarter of 2018.

All Live 9 editions are on sale at 20% off until the release of Live 10, with a free upgrade to its corresponding Live 10 edition upon release.
Existing Ableton Live owners should log into their accounts to check upgrade pricing.'

    Awwwww :p heh

I own Live 9 Suite + Push 2. Looks like the upgrade price is $359 Canadian, $289 if I preorder.

So they did almost everything they was asked for. Cool. What about vst3?

So it's out... Let's see if moving to Reaper was a good decision or not.

    I am curious about:
    - latency: is the latency issue when recording solved?
    - CPU performance: let's see if my 2013 retina MBP lives for it.
    - delay when routing aux effects on proper groups (ex: bus reverb to group of synths or pads, whatever): I've partially moved to PreSonus to mix because of this - and recording latency also...

199 euro is just not normal for an upgrade. 99 euro should be the maximum price for an upgrade on any DAW. but, having in mind that those money will be paid for the next 4 years of fixing bugs and comparing to other DAW's upgrade prices (except for FL)... I am sure they consider it a fair price to be paid by their loyal customers.

I totally agree, but I just upgraded for €159,-. When I went from 8 to 9 there wasn't any upgrade so I paid €654,- for a boxed L9 suite.

No vst3 support. No comping. Made in Berlin by Flinstones? Bitwig, Studio One, Reaper, FL Studio are still far to catch. Maybe Ableton users don't care because they produce kaka kiki koko krrr krrr fart fart... music with it mostly.:disco:

Edit: I love Dubstep too. Don't get offended. But Ableton is a limited DAW today. Producers need workflow, PDC, vst3 etc. They gave us wavetable synth and delay. Not sold.

As i never expect anything from ableton i like a lot the new update... i remember waiting the live 9 that take 4 years or more from live 8... and at the end was much worse... just the PDC makes me move to it.
I think new synths and plugins doesn't matter nowadays, but groups in groups, retrospective record, better automation, edit multiple clips, create clips with two clics etc, tools that a miss from cubase for me it's fine... and thanks god they don't use that skin that everybody was talking about. Was pretty but for me pretty bad in a pratical way.
