Do you mean russian people running amok? I don't watch those bloody mass media stuff, I think somewhere is always someone who goes crazy, maybe because he does not get what he wants.

Our modern societies are still far from satisfying all the predatory primitive instincts. Filmmaker Uwe Boll also tried to prove with rampage, that the shooting sprees in USA were a direct result of greedy assholes, who got away with the bad things they did. I think he blamed the perpetrators of the financial crisis. I'll stop now with the politics. However, I think VPN freedom and copyright issues have a certain degree of relevance to this forum.

And if we lock out people over filesharing, then it should be clear to every sensible person that society failed...
Was it france or UK with that three strikes law, where they cut your connection after the third notice??

Is Windscribe VPN good enough? I've been using it with Google Chrome to navigate over the net etc.. and it works pretty amazing. Was wondering, reading this thread, should I also Windscribe Windows software as well I believe in order to make sure when I'm downloading stuff through torrent app it does NOT show my IP6 address right? Any feedback is welcome in order to well use VPN as I guess the Chrome Windscribe extension is just for Chrome now for the whole computer connected on the net.

I meant everywhere, like last couple of months there has been two knife terrorizing cases in my country. There has been shooting spree's in the US, there has been couple of driving through crowd cases too in. One was in France and I don't remember where the recent drive through was. Almost every week there are some mass killing bloody cases in the news :woot:

In France we have this 3 strikes law (called HADOPI), torrent & emule networks are monitored and users are spotted and identified by their IP address.

But they do not monitor direct downloads nor do DPI (...yet).

@WarpenN1 You think the violence and terror increases because governments outlaw the freedom of the internet? I don't know. Somehow I doubt that the russian people march on the street today or attempt arson on waste bins. Maybe a few but not enough to stop Vlad the Blockader. And that is unfortunate.

Please, don't be silly. Depending on the country, you will get a fine or get fucked no matter what you say about ones and zeros.

You are altering the source by indirectly decreasing it's market value (even if by 0,00001%). And duplicating without permission is the very definition of a pirated copy, isn't it? Besides, leeching never really seems to be as big of a problem as sharing.

I am all for piracy, bro! But your post just doesn't seem right.

software is actually ones and zeros , like literally.

i feel you it is a complicated issue for sure.

my point is calling it piracy is flawed calling it theft is flawed.

we can't fix any issues surrounding the problem because the people against copying files which is what it literally is.
is saying that sharing is theft, that duplication is theft! that transferring ones and zeros ( what software actually is in reality)
is PIRATING!, pirating is forcing your way onto a persons ship raping their women destroying their boat beating them men, holding at gunpoint while stealing taking goods on board stealing what is all the boat then killing everyone and sinking the ship

somehow me copying a file is the same as that?

    BULLSHIT!

if we have any change of addressing the issue we have to look at it realistically.

Does the torrent rule apply only to piratbay? I only got a few torrents from there. The majority of my stuff comes from Audioz and worldvst.ru. Is worldvst safe or is it just the same as any other kind of torrent? All this stuff about vpn, I don't have a source of income so I can't pay for it sadly... Actually, all this crap came after I did legitimately buy a bunch of software after a year of using it. I don't actually get a lot of stuff anymore since I already have more than I could ever need. One of my biggest concerns is do they monitor me visiting the websites or do they only crack down on the downloads? I love just going on audioz and checking out what is new, but I don't download stuff that often. Based on the replies above, I'm assuming that all downloads from audioz are safe?

Done, in what way does it help? Does it prevent monitoring?

Beside the VPN advice I would also recommend to switch isp immediately, this will teach them a lesson. Hopefully.

In most of USA users have few ISP options. Often only one or two so we need to be careful not to get ejected by ISP over copyright infringement. I'm a very light "abuser" and got shitcanned by my VPN, HMA (Hide My Ass) after only one abuse report. I have tried Windscribe but only get about 50 kb/s. It seems others get better results. I'm waiting for Black Friday specials to sign up with new VPN.

It forces your browser to use https (which is a really good thing), but it can't help you as long as you're torrenting stuff without VPN. Because when you do that, you literally show the whole world that you are committing a crime. :winker:

Dude, why did BIll Gates get so rich since it's all just ones and zeros?
Why do radio stations have to pay to play or even hum certain songs?
If you press a copy of a vinyl record it's bad, but duplicating a CD is ok?

This conversation is of no interest to me, but your logic is so retarded it forces me to reply :)

    Nope, it's on point.

Your idea of piracy is simply not real and very close minded to be honest.

read about the HTTPS protocol. in short, it allows remote server to establish an encrypted connection between you and the server, so your ISP won't be able to sniff your traffic.

So it can protect you against MITM and sniffing in general but the ISP is still able to see which site you are visiting.
So if they are clever they say: Ahh..This Ip visited Audiosex for ten minutes and afterwards there was a new comment from Mainzelman. And after the 10th post I'd be to 99% exposed regardless.

Still https is a good thing because law enforcement is not easily allowed to intercept internet traffic (depending on the country). If you really want to protect yourself you have to gather all necessary information about the situation in your country first and than make a cost-benefit analysis
