You joined a week ago and speak as though you were born on this day as well. I don't understand the vehement hatred of the tools we all use to great effect that you have displayed here. You say it's a burden to have to BUY (your caps) software, or perhaps you even would like free hardware. This may of course be hard for you on the pocket money you get from your parents. However, you clearly have sufficient access to the internet and the skills to compose your somewhat erratic missives throughout this thread, so you have some command of technology. What then is it we are being told "not to blame young people" for? This confuses me. And if, in your mind you are making a valid point, should we then blame "old people"? I am one myself and would like to know what I, and others like me have done to offend you.

My nephew speaks quite the same way you do. Always complaining about people, the toolset, the bad boss... It's never his fault, always others are resposible for his lack of knowledge and abilities.
It's sad to say, but he's simply a loser.

You really aren't here to win the respect of anybody, are you. Notice I didn't put a question mark on the end of that sentence.

You sound like a fine uncle: badmouthing your own nephew to strangers on the internet.

some interesting comments on this topic, cool points of view.
I don't find anything said here offensive just humorous in an ironic type of way.
I don't presume to fully know the intent of any comment ( the text is missing lot of information body language tone of voice)

I approach MUSIC with a certain perspective " It is about the journey, not the destination"
sure i set goals of all sizes and lengths of time .
music for me is a lifelong process of school. at the same time my creative outlet , profession, culture, and society
I accept that some things take a length of time based on the way things really work.
you could spend 500 years every second on music , and learn more every hour.
someday you will die, with less than 100 percent knowledge about music .

you have to accept this and be okay that whatever your willing to put in is enough, however long something takes is okay
THINGS DON"T ALWAYS TURN OUT LIKE YOU THOUGHT THEY MIGHT!
yet most of the time the way they turn out is that you are much more wise, advanced, intelligent, mature , and skilled than when you first thought up how things SHOULD turn out.

the music industry as a profession has changed and evolved.
you have to know a lot about many areas of music and do many things yourself
this also means its a life long journey ( if you want to get much out of it)
yes you can do as little as possible but what is the point?

I have a test for you.

If music is really for you you can find out!
start from the ancient Greece until say the late 1800's studying the history of music ( just to start out), every style every genre, learn all about it, take in styles you don't think you like learn how it all came to be how and when instruments where invented , how they work,
learn music theory, the language of music how it all came to be and why
as you build all this knowledge overtime it will change you.
If you can't stomach doing the work
go do a different "job" you can stomach doing the work.
then just think of music as playing with yourself for enjoyment every now and then.

when i spend 8 hours a day in deep research about every aspect of music and then putting that knowledge to advancing myself, it feels a certain way to me it changes me It adds to the entire body of knowledge and skill that i had already had and i am more than what i was.
when i put that knowledge into action and actually using it i become more fluent and see all the puzzle pieces connect.
some people are like this with carpentry or with auto mechanics some with painting some with medical filed that just work there balls off, yet feeling like they couldn't have it any other way.

find the thing that you can work your balls off on, and you wouldn't have it any other way!

He is basically a snob. Wants results without hard work, yet dares to look down on us, hard working people

From what I can ascertain from his ramblings, he's a 10 year old who thinks he should already be making world class beats but can't understand how to use the software he possesses and has no money (being only 10) to buy better software, which is too complicated, unlike an iPhone. Oh and he hates old people. I'd better not tell him he'll be one some day, at which time he'll have to listen to people like him.

    it's true.

but ableton wasn't originally made to be a composing tool,

it was supposed to be a live DAW for people making Techno, so essentially using samples and loops.

the firsts DAWs were cubase and pro tools.

pro tools comes as an integrated system : DAW + hardware

it's after these 2 ones I think that other softs like logic, sonar, etc ... showed up.

don't forget that the first DAWs were originaly only recording tools for musicians ( meaning: people who play instruments ) and the midi interface was here to control external hardware synths

sampling as evolved along with PC technology, but regardless of your knowledge, if you can't play the instrument, you will have to spend time and efforts - especially with "cheap" means - if you want your beat to sound good.

or just get better at making well-crafted music. so many others do it already, and you're complaining that it's not simple enough? don't want to put in the effort? i'm a classically trained guitar player since i was a child, and when i began production on electronic music, i thought similar things. then, i decided to put a lot of effort into it, countless hours, and my stuff sounds so much better, and i appreciate the process, because i love music. you can't wait for machine learning? so you can't wait for supreme laziness? if you care about it, learn the tools, learn LFOs, and be like the countless other people who have made incredible music. sounds like you are just giving yourself excuses for your shortcomings...

I blame old people. Bob Moog, Tom Oberheim, Dave Smith, Alan Perlman, Ikutaro Kakehashi, Laurens Hammond. Leo Fender, Les Paul. None of them helped young people to make beats in an exceptionally easy way.

just my 2cents... in the 80s you needen 1-2 mio $ to onw a pro recording-studio comparable to modern DAWs... so you had no chance to get even close to techiques like sid-chaining or addin pro reverb... devices like valhalla VR costed about 25.000 bucks... there were no youtube tutorials available, you needed to visit an expensive school (sae...) , est. 15.000 $ to even become a semi expert... private studios ins 10.000 to 30.000 $ league had no chance to create a pro-record... 2day you are able to produce a hit record with your 800$ lap and a bunch of stolen apps... thats the deal... all you have to do is take the chance to learn, a chance that lacked to most musician then...
