DMG just launched Trackcomp, which seems to be a very cool compressor:

I haven't tested it yet, but it looks like a winner to me, judging by DMG's impeccable reputation.

Anyway, since we've discussing how cool Analog Obsession's plugins are soundwise, mostly due to their SPICE based guts, I guess this one will sound even better.

Could sound better or not, only testing will show. Tunca worked for AA if im not mistaken, so the guy knows what he is doing ( mostly).

He knows hardware, but certainly he's not a programmer. He must have worked for AA taking samples of hardware or something like that, but not programming stuff, that's for sure.

 

Give him time. He has the ears and the potential. His EQs are great, comps need to be updated though.

 

Couldn't agree more. His plugins sound good but when it comes to GUI and prorgramming, poor, clumsy & could be enhanced, its really not his forte and stubborn on top of that. Sucks sometimes to see great new developers that bring amazing sounding plugins but don't take the time develop their products well. Its sucks but each their own way ;-) Hope he wakes up one day & take the time to alliance himself with great programer & Gui designer to fine tune the GUIs.

Just tried it...Very yummy. Thanks for the info @RMorgan ! I should be able to get it for around 50€ with my dmg discount...No brainer for me.

 

Yeah you should be able to get a demo license by creating an account on dmg site. Then the list of available plugins appear, you dl the soft, then hit on demo, it asks for your email adress, you enter it and it sends you a demo license. Write to D.Gamble if you have any problems, he is very cool.

 

Their track series plugins are great. Very cpu efficient and great quality.

 

I must test this and judging by the comments on other forums this could be really great mixing compressor. I'd like to compare it to PSP and Overloud 1176s which is my favourite mixing compressor, but this one also incorporates G-bus, E-chan and 2A emus, beside DMG and 1176 modes. Looks very versatile. I hope it sounds as good as it looks, too!
