    Sand sounds wider and clearer imo

    Depends what your mix goals are. Different units sampled and different flavours achieved. Tim P's version has more weight and a darker tone.

    I have them both and a hardware unit...I personally favor Tim's version over sand...but they are both great comps..\m/

    Why N4 with no make up gain and SAND with +6db ?

    IMHO...... Next to L Bus, Sand sounds like the more modern XLogic bus comp.... L Bus sounds like a G384 or 4000 bus comp.

    This is how i feel about them too>>> after owning Sand for some time it is nice to have the darker tone of Tims >>>>so we have the best of both worlds to choose from for the source we are working on \m/
