    Hi,

Any prefered distortion plugins, recommendations, tips for the typically 303 sound?
Normally I use Audiorealism ABL3, D16 Phoscyon and Roland VS TB-303.

    Thanks in advance,

Edit:Ah, software. Check out Ohmicide. Even though it's 32bit only (needs jBridge if you are on 64x), it's still quite versatile.

simply said: there is no plugin that will give the same rich distorted sound that a real pedal does, i've tried to find one for years now and no luck, it's just one of those things that cant be properly emulated and without a real pedal you'll prolly never get that sound you're looking for

I agree. If you're buying a plugin, which I assuming you are, you better off and get the real deal for the money $$. A Distortion/Fuzz Pedal(not digital though), 2nd hand or something, see how it fits your needs.

If you are ''trialing'' plugins there is also Guitar Rig 5, which does quite amazing things.

I second this. Ohmicide is my go to distortion.
@Baxter it is available in x64, though.

Guitar Rig, Waves GTR and Positive Grid Bias in subtle amounts running through Acustica Audio plugs does wonders for distortion.

Yes, I ask for plugins, but searching on the net I found this website, I thought it was interesting.

i do have to say one thing, the tb-3 from roland has some really good distortion, was surprised by it. ok it's hardware and it's digital but it's also a whole lot of fun to play around with. and it can function as an audiointerface (be it with out a line in apart from the audio output of the device itself)

i have several Behringer TD 3's, a Proco Rat 2 and am Electro-Harmonix BigMuff nano: My conclusion after a shitload of testing: Real pedals simply suck. They just cause problems and don't sound better than their digital counterparts. In any way. I never use them. The most flexible distortion effect in my eyes is the cableguys driveshaper (shaperbox). The possibility of (easily) distorting just the higer frequencies while leaving the lower ones untouched is devinely, not to mention the the optionally LFO-triggered distortion. Plus different distortion-styles, different fine-adjustment options etc. I get the distortion spot on with it.
