    hi,

    example 1 is my goal:

example 2 is the status quo, I want to improve it:

how do I make example 2 sound like example 1? especially when it comes to the low-end.
bass and kick have much more focus and energy than in example2...

do I have to use multiband compression on a kick/bass BUS, or even on the master? with a band around 0-250 Hz? That was my idea, but..I tried and I am not quite sure if this is the right thing to achieve that sound.

please help me out here, thanks

totally different bassline and kick being used on example 2. example 2 has a regular sine wave. try using classic basslines, start off with some moogy type stuff, or tal-bassline has some nice stuff too , you can tweak it and it'll give you that .

bigger than prince (hot since 82 remix) has a similar bassline.

Golden Trick #1 : Use side chain filters on single band compressors in order to treat the dynamic specifically to the frequency range where the problem is."

Of course there's a side chain compression on the bass triggered by the bd and the basslines differ, But I don't think these are the main reasons.

On the one hand in ex1 the bass is much louder (especially in the off beat), on the other hand I think the most difficult thing with basses or bd's below 60Hz is its origin, the source. If you don't have the adequate samples or instruments (be it hard- or software) your sounds will loose punch in those low frequencies. And you will need very precisely adjusted filter and amp curves.
