At least I can say that Ryzen at 3.9GHZ has almost two times the performance of my 4790k at 4.5GHZ in DAW performance. 4790k stutter and freeze in a lot of my projects, in one of my projects it would even stutter at 1028 or 15xx buffer size without (freezing tracks) but now that I have Ryzen, I can run that one particular projects at 512 buffer size without any pauses freezes

(maybe faster RAM could play a part in good performance cause with 4790k I had 2400mhz 2*8GB ram but with Ryzen my RAM is clocked at 3200mhz and that project takes like 12-13GB of RAM or so..)


And BTW does anyone now how big part L3 cache size and speed plays when doing a lot of track/effects/virtual instrument stuff?

I've been AFK for awhile hence the delay in my response. I tried all sorts of shit, there's even a factory profile in the mobo for 3200 but it doesn't work. I've decided to leave it at where it's at for now.
