How often to you produce and finish an entire music album ? Poll

What's an album? Most of us can't finish one song.

Baby steps, baby steps.. what about saving this question for 2018. Let's start /w singles!

I can sketch a sonatina in a couple of weeks...

 

I average 2 a month, sometimes more. But I'm paid to do so...

 

for work, really fast like less month.
but like now my own stuff im taking my time real slow and carefully (years for this one)
its because i made so many of my own albums im going for different thing now.
its because im taking a harmonic and melodic concept and exploring improvisation for a couple months each idea before even laying tracks down at all.
( going through history of music to inform and inspire this one)

 

If there is such thing as a three track album, then once every thousand years! Oh but I refuse to use loops to form any part of a track other than finishing touches, like pads as fillers

 

what is it you really want to know?
if its "okay" that you put out another album next week or next month?

Most do Singles or EP's in 2017 anyway.

at any rate. Do absolutely what you feel like. You can do anything you want

 

lol, i don't want to know a n y t h i n g,especially if its '' o k a y " to release albums, i follow my own rules and my heart........just want to engage into a conversation with this amazing community of people here and on the sister site.

I don't make albums per se and I can't be compared to high quality pros in here, but usually, for me, it all has to do with inspiration/the right time. Right now I want to do something ambient/downtempo, so instead of my usual playlists I listen to, now I'm putting *ONLY* this kind of music, just to get in the mood and to absorbe everything I can
Sometimes a track writes by itself following a theme or a certain something, and then it's all about refining/polishing.
Other times I wander around for weeks before finding a good solid base which then can be built on.
And when I do finally find something, I usually make more tracks that could fill the same "release" and I group them together.
Some months I don't have time to fiddle around with music, other months when I do I just end up with a hundred projects files named:
- goodmelo
- thisoneforxmas
- crapbutsavingitanyway
- lol
- GOOD FOR NEXT EP
etc.
