    maybe not "under the sun"

but how about "under the moon?"

this music or even thje instruments did not exist in 2004 or 1994 or earlier in time than that , it is entirely new.
[IMG][IMG] [IMG] [IMG]these instruments are built for tuning range 2 octaves below regular guitar and bass.
we are starting to see, and will continue to see music created for the first time with instruments played and music constructed in the subwoofer range of speakers where the music shakes your guts.(like car stereo music used to be)
our technology for the first time in pa and instrument amplifiers have the ability to produce sound in the lowest ranges than ever before in history.

these are all examples of that lower instrument range , used in heavier music but it could be used in ANY genre.
for example someone could make electronic type car stereo music except played all by instruments

Lol This was the big thing in the 80s. I like the tune but thats a horrible vocal take. Although it doesn't help them that they're not mixed and essentially sound like a bedroom recording.

Believe it or not, that post was pretty accurate about the next big thing. Djent is a new genre (albeit inspired by Meshuggah circa 2000) and relatively new metal vocal styles like inhales (pig screams) or the effects in Humanity's Last Breath are forming something different.

I mean, you can say the same thing about Dubstep and "wow, slap a tremolo on bass -- wub wub wub -- ground breaking!!!!" but look at EDM and how it is (was?) the next big thing. It's easy to be dismissive.

You think we already exhausted all our creative sources?

If it was possible, I would go for something creatively as demanding and extreme as all this. I wonder what I could do with my mac and sml midi controller with those echos of Motzart and pop music going on on some of my brain circuits, the ones exposed to provincialism and class conformity!

I mean rehearsing, playing and living the character might be an interesting experience.

I think some of these proposals in their darkness bring some kind of alternative to the popular boredom. At least one can think of fantasies where the nerves are restricted to few kinetic demands, a sort of art of trapping one’s body using it as an instrument to speak the language of anger and resentment.

    Love its darkness and staging.

As for being it new...new, Im not so convinced, things stemming from somewhat expressing horror can't be new. All that are forms to communicate an old evil, the unholy. The tradition is full of this.

it is true that with that style of metal the vocals are a different thing than normal pop songs where the vocals are the main event, in this type metal the vocals are like another instrument, not the main highlight.
the thing" new "about it is the tuning ( whole new guitars that new instruments and construction of the music with rhythms timings.

the vocal style actually is new also, not becuase of the general gravel sound haha, but becuase the technique which it uses tunnel throat and shape mouth and puts many techniques together to change the way it sounds instead of typewriter.
but yes i agree to say that rhaw rhaw just as a general concept in broad way, would be crazy to say that part is new,
