    Ok, I know that's a strange question, but I got an idea.

    I often use a lot of MIDI file in my music production: loops, chords progression of famous song to take something I like, beats, build ups... but everytime I want to take a fast preview of the content I need to open an instrument track in my Daw, load a synth or a sampler and then import it. It would be really nice and it could save up some time if there's any software that, setting BPMs, can play a midi file (for example with a simple basic piano, or with the easiest sound, just to understand what the midi contains).
    Does a program like this exist?

    I hope you got my question...thanks!

    Resonic Player by LiqubeAudio.
    I use it to preview all my samples, cuz it has a waveform view. It supports midi as well with basic GM piano, but you can add other soundbanks (sf2 i guess)

    Record yourself playing? Or just play? Or is that too simple?

    QuickTime is the default midi player on Mac. Press Command I for info and set the default to "open with QuickTime"

    @tooloud who's that beautiful?:invision: I'll swap 5 friends of mine with it + $10000.:yes:

    PS:
    There are some midi players on AZ. Just search it. BTW, why use midi, when your mental abilities are aptly more capable of producing better pieces?:dunno:

    For one track midi files I just use the Media Explorer within Reaper. It will route it through whatever VST you want on the active track. For multitrack midi files I use a program called Speedy Midi, but I don't preview multitrack midi files very often-- certainly not often enough to look for a better solution.

    If you use Cubase, just clck on the midi file in the Media Bay and it will automatically play using GM midi; without loading onto a track
