paying $99 for the update is to much money, you don't get a lot features.

Bit like win10, you get a load of new stuff, but they drop the dvd support. Old tech has got to be dropped at some point, just not everyone will agree when that time should be.

sending off for Cubase 8.5 tonight !
    PRETTY STOKED.
i understand 8.5 is the last Cubase to support 32 Bit plugins ,
so i am gonna stop there for now. not ready to go full 64 yet , ha
is the delay lama even in 64 ?! haha
will i have to move my VST directories ?
i have shit tons of stuff installed & would hate to have to re do all installs , if u catch my drift !
also , i assume most plugins will be fine running in a "legit" copy of cubase ? :)

thanks all for the help !

32bit plugins should anyway be used via JBridge. They have always had problems directly via Cubase own bridge.

Where you able to buy the update Pro box and use it with the Cracked 5.1 version to save some money?

Hmmm, Cubase 9 is great, but please don't claim there isn't any problems or bugs with it.

There are dozens of bugs, a bit of problems and a bit of stupid things they've done with it, aside from all the good things. Generally it is the best MIDI sequencer of all IMHO and people in Europe generally love it and depend upon it. I personally like and use Reaper, but all of my clients use Cubase and some use ProTools on the side, too. Cubase is a workhorse MIDI sequencer. Hopefully they will iron out some really annoying bugs and inconsistencies that are present in v9 and v8. I recommend to use v8.5 for now and v6 and v7 are better avoided. If you buy v9 you can still download and use v7, v8 and maybe even v6, I think. Buy it and see which one works best for you.

Yes, one of the problems is not a very reliable VST bridge. It's better to use JBridge. Also ASIO guard is sometimes better turned off.

Good luck with finding a way how to remove a VSTi from the rack. It exists. Just one of the weird and illogical quirks.

p.s. I will never use it because I really like routing and efficiency of Reaper. But I understand why people use Cubase. Especially those who are not so technically savvy as I am. It is a sequencer for musicians, not technicians.

Agree, it has some annoying bugs but i havent experienced problems with removing the VSTi from the rack, seems like certain bugs appear only to certain people, which is also a Steinberg trademark, lol.

    Hi everybody,
me too I was suggested to move on from my beloved and long time companion Cubase 5.1.1 to Cubase 7, mainly for the 64 bit support. I like it, but there are still some things like the quantize things for example which makes me feel not yet very at ease. But the most annoying thing for me right now is that I miss one feature which was very important for me. That's the "process part" one. I mean, I found very useful the chance to permanently process with plugins Fx a single part of a track, leaving the rest of the track untouched. I searched thru the options of Cubase 7 but I wasn't able to find it. Can anyone help? Thank you in advance, cheers
(I'm new here, nice to meet you!)

IMO the greatest feature of Cubase Pro 9 is the unlimited undo for the mixer, a real timesaver!

your going to loose all your 32bit plugins .. but don't let that stop you look at it like a cleanse for your system a purge of all that junk you have been hoarding in your vST folder for way too long .. i don't have any issues with 64bit everything runs better and the quality of the software you end up running goes up leaps and bounds .. don't be like the muppets who are still trying to run XP get with the 64bit program

I am on Cubase 9 now. Love it, the workflow and new windows set up is a perfect match for me. Also very CPU and ASIO friendly. If you like Cubase now, do the upgrade/update.

I own cubase9 but have fallen back to using 8.5 for lack of support of 32bit-plug-ins. Besides it blacklists my legitimate Kontakt, which is part of NI Komplete11. Don't understand why.

oooo look out u won't get a 32 bit bridge so you can run software thats 10 years out of date ( END OF THE WORLD) ...
also when the guys at steinberg sit back and nut out vst3 improvements or maybe the new vst4 spec for them self first and all the other software daws last its a no brainer to think there own daw software is going to get the real goods and all the features they created .....they have been making daw's.... much much longer than the rest... and I'm sure there not going to give away the best bits to companies that want there spot at the top ....cubase 9 is light years ahead ..

    Hi Von_Steyr
I use Cubase 5.1.1 Build 120 - Built on Nov 23 2009, Kontakt 5.6.8 and a lot of plugs (waves, fabfilter, soundtoys etc etc etc). I have Intel I7 4790K with Win 7 Ultimate. I want to upgrade from Cubase 5.1.1 to Cubase 9. I would like to ask you the following:
    1) Having installed the original Cubase 9 can I still use the cracked Kontakt and plugs without issues?
    2) I need a USB Steinberg eLicenser Key?

Thank you so much in advance
