And what "Approximately how much did you earn last year ?" haves to do with musical preferences?

 

Thanks for at least getting that far, part of the thesis includes socio-economic aspects and whether that influences your choices, ie how much classical music would a person of little means hear or even listen too. So age, money, geography etc all pay a part, or do they ?, that is the aim, to find if your preferences are nature or nurture. I could not make the survey too involved or too big, people just wouldn't bother to finish it.

 

Yeah, there's a lot of stuff I like in different genres and also there's a lot of shit i dislike in those same genres. How the hell am i suppose to answer? The poll is incorrect and useless.
I mean the pop can be like Feist, Florence + the machine, Gorillaz, Lykke Li, whatever, and it also can be Katty Perry and watch me nae nae, or is nae nae considered rap? This really is useless.

Yes, I know what you mean, but how involved can a short survey be, of course everything genre has it's good and bad, and many genres have sub genres. Some people do actually refuse to listen to certain types of music but love 90% of another genre, please, if you have a better question to ask, let me know. If you like 50% of something, then surely you like it but don't love it, 80% or more, then you probably love it. It's probably not that hard to make a judgement on a genre between like and love or not fussed about it and really hate it.

Filled out the survey for you.

I remember dreading having to go around and ask people to fill out surveys for my marketing classes. Mine were these annoying 2+ page surveys that were on boring topics the professor chose and took forever to fill out. I think I filled out half of them myself in the end. I remember I had to bribe people with pizza to do a focus group once also.

Please share some graph or summary of the genre of music people prefer (and dislike) based on their income level. I have a feeling it will be pretty much as common sense would lead one to believe but it would still be interesting to see the results. The members here mostly produce EDM music though so that may skew your results somewhat.
