As I said earlier, NOBODY seemed to have a problem opening and running R2R's Key Generators and suddenly a CMD prompt has some members freaking out. One thing I know for sure is that if R2R were to release a cracked version of the latest Cubase or Nexus the very same people who have a problem with the CMD prompt would be among the first ones to run Key Generators and patch their arses if needed to without thinking twice about it. Let's stop that nonsense and show some gratitude by no visiting that site. That is not much to ask.

 

Just to be clear.. It is not JUST the .cmd prompt (that any monkey that can right-click can check), it is NOT even the keygen but the very installer.exe that (at least) checks your hosts file.. Many don't know what hosts file does, many use it to send everything to hell (known also as 127.0.0.1). But some people use hosts file for more complex networking purposes. In other words, it can contain sensitive information.

That being said, I totally agree ...many would tattoo "PATCH_IT_HARD_AND_DEEP.cmd" around their assholes for this or that wet dreams release, if THE group said so. Who knows, may be the next step.. lol

 

yeah .. no need for hysteria.. and they disclosed it fully.. what it's for and what it does...

just that ancillary stuff like this is bound to raise some eyebrows..and some questions...
maybe people still freaked about the excesses of Tone2 and "Markus' " shenanigans
as detailed in the infamous AiR nfo

@tonyg0499 you're probably right. One had to have the patience of a Saint to still fantasize about a k'd fresh Cubendo without lapsing into hysteria after so many years and 1000s of releases from the teams that didn't target e-licenser
And @Matt777: Couldn't any EXE from any warez release scan for sensitive information in hosts files on pirate computers already? Just because now people know for sure that the file is scanned doesn't mean much imho.

Yes and No. Depends on your protection. I was just stating facts because you were all talking about "innocent" .cmd file which is only half of what's going on. And I can add - hosts file is not there just for fun and because of its importance many times target of malware.. I don't have an "opinion" (except maybe, that it is really not the only offending site, come on.. they must have rly upset them) But in THE team we trust..!

i stopped downloading stuff anyway, they gave us so much stuff, honestly it's rather pointless and i don't want to fall into the habit of downloading just for the sake of downloading
(unless it's NEXUS 3000 + ALL EXPANSIONZ)

 

That is exactly what happened.They are not affraid of R2R's KGs but a CDM prompt...that must be very dangerous! LOL

Do it manually noobs, click start, type cmd, run it as Administrator, now click to open hosts file that way C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts, now paste 127.0.0.1 www.r2rdownload.com, now save it. Now you're good to go. Hope it helps
