    Hi!
Have you tested the Waves NLS plugin?
What do you think of it? Does it sum individual tracks better than DAWs do?

I'm on FL Studio 10/12 and FL's summing is said to be not very good - do you agree?

I thought of starting summing individual tracks with NLS plugin instead of using FL's engine, but
I need your opinions about this summing topics, as I'm not an expert.

    Cheers!

DAWs summing are linear and transparent you might want it, or maybe not. Is it better? I don't know if Blue colour or Red colour is better.
    No.
Well, you could. It will add something but it is not necessarily better. It is different.

NLS is pretty CPU hog if you stack it up, so I prefer VCC or Satson or Britson.

I have compared NLS and Slate VCC.
NLS is more colorful and more saturated. To me in NLS, the Mike console (EMI) really add something.
I finally choose Slate VCC (and Airwindows) because VCC tends to respect more the transients.

NLS has a lot more saturation than VCC. So becarefull. You can easily use too much of it. But the overall sound is a bit better than vcc. For my ears. The different channel emulations making the difference i think. But Both are great.

Compared to the sterile linear summing of a daw every Console emulation is a step up.
It is just precise sterile summing compared to a more organic saturated summing. A console emulation gives more "depth" to your tracks/songs

Some time ago I installed the cracked Waves Complete suite, just to use the waves NX. (I didn't have a chance to check if there's NLS plugin included).
However, if I buy now a legit NLS plugin, will I need to uninstall the whole Waves Complete(cracked) first ?
(So far, I only use waves NX, nothing else from the Waves Complete)

I'm thinking of buying NLS as it's discounted right now

And btw. How does NLS should be used in FL Studio10?
It's enough that I insert NLS instances in every instrument's insert, and it makes FL Studio stop summing the instruments, and lets the NLS sum the instruments?

If you want to invest in Waves NLS, it's a good price. However, I'd say grab Console4, Totape5, and FromTape, (all free), which in my view give you the closest width and depth that can be achieved for in software for minimum CPU cosumption. For color and saturation, grab your favorite preamp, compressor, or EQ modeled plugin (I prefer Acqua or UAD emulations), and you will get that sound that is so elusive in the digital world. Best of all, you'll pay nada, except that you will feel compelled to throw in a few dollars to AirWindows's Patreon initiative for free plugins.
