    Womack is one of my all time faves. Comb through the entire back catalogue - lots of great tunes in there . . . What Is This?, That's The Way I Feel About'cha, I Can Understand It . . .

    These records were rare anywhere outside US, true. But Tarantino's movies not: https://www.miramax.com/tarantinoxx/ :chilling:

    70s Harlem, pimps, whoes, smackheads, and people trying to get to the other side of 110th St. by being none of those things. It's a shame how well written posetive empowerment songs just don't pop up as much anymore... especially not when contrasted with the pimp the whoes, get money, fuck bitches and get rich kind.

    ++ B. Womack
    ++ C. Mayfield

    Hey all, how do I post a You Tube Link like you all did. I was in a group in the 80"s and we were fortunate enough to cut an album. Its on you Tube. I think our lead singer was as good as some of these guys. Let me know how to post and you all be the judge. Thanks in advance. ...It's so ironic how society went away from vinyl only to come back full circle. I heard albums are making a comeback

    Truly another one of my all-time faves. I especially love the version of I'll Be Around from the When We Were Kings documentary, live from the prefight concert in Zaire. I believe The Spinners were accompanied by some of James Brown's band - hence the inclusion of the horns. Sorry, no link . . . :(

    I played guitar in this band. The album was released in 1982 and yes I'm an old timer. I can still play. Let me know what you think. We should have made it but Oh well!!!!

    Classic tune, although it has to be the Terri Wells version for me! I know I know it's blasphemy, but what can i do!

    My dad use to have a music stall in the market in the 60's, and motown, soul and black music in general were better sellers than uk pop at that time. People just couldn't get enough of it!
