Finalize your mixes with the ultimate mix buss plugin from Grammy-winning mixing engineer Chris Lord-Alge (Green Day, Bruce Springsteen, Keith Urban, Muse).

For over 30 years, Chris Lord-Alge has been the mixer of choice for rock royalty, from Aerosmith to U2, Foo Fighters to Muse. One of the secrets to his signature sound have been his unique punchy, smooth, in-your-face mix buss chains – and now they are all yours in the form of the CLA MixDown plugin.

“I perfected my mix buss chains over many years and 20,000 mixes,” says Chris. “I’ve taken my two favorite chains and put them under the hood of this simple-to-use, supercharged champion of a plugin. CLA MixDown features two flavors of my mix buss compression sound, plus console overdrive and a finishing EQ with the perfect bass and treble curves.

“You can use CLA MixDown on your master channel, or you can use it the CLA way – on a master aux. You can add it after you finish mixing to secure your mix with that final touch, but I recommend you insert it before you start mixing, and then mix ‘through’ the plugin, which will help you tailor your mix and get the best sound. Either way, it will dramatically enhance your overall mix and save you precious time toward getting that final mixing touch!”
    • Simple-to-use mix buss plugin for finalizing and enriching your mixes
    • Created in collaboration with Grammy-winning mixer Chris Lord-Alge
    • Four faders for enhancing the color, dynamics and drive of your mix
    • Bass fader: Controls the richness of the mix

    • Glue: Two flavors of compression for holding the mix together
    • Drive: Analog console overdrive for increasing harmonic distortion

Don't get me wrong. I'm sure this is soing to sound fantastic, as any other CLA plugin in the series, but it feels too overcooked. Time to give it a road test.

EDIT: Thanks @devilorcracker for the heads up.

If I were cashing his endorser checks and billing his mixing rates, I'd be that fatter, too.

From YouTube commens. Although I don't encourage such behavior, in this case I really hope he's a troll: "Sold! I love all your other CLA plug-ins, so this is a no-brainer for me! I've been using Izotope Ozone which is good but it seems a little complicated with 550 million choices... I need something more simple to comprehend and quick to get to a good mix."

I can't stand his mixes. Over cooked trite. More so than Mutt Lange. Being an endorsee whore is one thing, the level of arrogance this hairy ape gives off is disgusting....

Its subjective, I want plugins with lots of knobs because I am a geek BUT, I like less knobs more . :)

yeah sounds cool, but i hit already Slate Digital everything bundle for 15$ per month, usualy i don't trust less knobs and faders as the music industry comes bigger and bigger with electronic music e.t.c,many ppl want quick results so maybe he made this for this specific situation in my opinion, well who knows ,everything we use if we know for what reason we use it, it is safe, but no bother if we try a lots of stuff :)

I really believe the goal lately with Waves and thier endorsee whores is to lure you into a specific "sound" but intentionally leave you wanting/needing more to finish the job, thus that's why they come out with another "Joe Shmoe's special sauce" plugin almost every other update. Waves has had enough tools in the box to finish a mix since 2000. All they're doing now is bundling presets into limited parametered plugins. Why the hell aren't they perfecting the ones they already have!!!? Not to swing from UAD's nuts, but at least there are companies like UA who still make plugins that stay current with emulation tech because of updates....

Is it just me or is his demo annoyingly dumbed down and arrogant. You can tell his targeted consumers for sure. Bing! Bam! Boom! WTF?!? Is he channeling Emeril? Whats next? Pork loin chops cacciatore mix bus plugins? He does look hungry

I knew that Lurssen Mastering Console was too complex with five bands of eq. You only need bass and treble. I can't wait for the upgrade when it will just have a "tone" knob.

For the whiners: those plugins are made for people who DON'T have mixing skills and want to achieve a certain sound the easy way. Not the best tool but fit for certain people. It is also a plugin designed specifically to emulate CLA's master chain, not to be your mastering suite.

In true honesty, it ain't that different from using an SSL bus compressor on the mix bus. A simple set of controls, tweaked at minimum just to get a glueing effect on the whole mix. In principle, it doesn't get that far from that. And for the asking price (Waves $29 - R2R $0), it can't go wrong.

Hi, whiner here. So you think people who DON'T have mixing skills are ever going to acquire mixing skills if they use this?

This looks a lot like the GW MixCentric which is a another plugin that runs through a (Greg's) mastering chain. It doesn't replace your own chain or knowledge, but it can help to lift the veil off a mix and it has a permanent place on my chain alongside the ToneCentric. Greg's plugins are my favorite from Waves and I love what VoiceCentric does to vocals.

The character will probably be different and reflect CLA's sound, but it looks like it's the same principle. No, plugins like these won't replace your mixing knowledge, but running the signal through it in modest amounts can still give you some good results and a different character you might enjoy :)

On one hand, I do agree on that. the problem with waves all in one plugin like this is I don't know what it does to my mix.
meaning it can sound great adding it after 10 minutes in the mix, but after I let my ears rest I hear artifacts (or irregularities)
with these plugins, Not necessary bad, but for me it's hard to work with, I don't know why :dunno:

I just need to know what is going on, I guess I'm not that ' adaptive'
