So the timer ran out, but the sale is not over. It still costs 29 bucks, but now it says "Available only for Waves v9.91". It didn't say that before. I guess it means, if you have older plugins below v 9.91 without coverage I guess you can't install it. Or am I wrong?

Well, actually I had one product which was v.9.9.1 and when I did a demo of Brauer Motion all my other stuff was updated to v.9.9.1.

They do also have excellent customer service.

 

i just tried ,every waves that was not licensed stop working except the SSL E Channel ,that i bought,lol i install again the all package

 

I bought the SSL channel during the countdown phase and mine is version 9.2...

BTW, yesterday I did a mix of a song I mixed previously. But this time I only used the SSL E channel, softube tape, Reverb, delay and some master bus processing.

Its just like open the gui, set the filters, boom, check comp (yes/no), boom, eq, boom, levels, boom, next track. In like 2 minutes. No soling for the most part. And i really liked the sound, too. Unlike before: "hmm, do i use an opto or vari-mu, la2a, or 3a, or Fairchild? Api or neve or pultec EQ? blablabla.

Im really thinking about uninstalling all theses useless duplicates of the same models of plugins and all that other shit i never ever use and just stick to a solid set of basics I really know inside out.

 

Spot on, that's what makes softube console 1 so appealing, no fancy gui mixing with eyes,just sound and tactile engagement.

 

I totally agree with you there, @5teezo, I far prefer the work flow that a strip plugin affords you. I don't miss the spectrum analyzer too bad, all I have to do is put an analyzer on the chain, and I can see what's happening there. I find myself reaching for the right band more often than not, as well as being more judicious with the amount of cut and boost as I can more clearly hear the effect.
I think I'll hang on to my vintage emulations for the time. (Until Acustica releases a vintage compressor bundle for Core 9.) When I want a certain flavor, they are my go to's. Sometimes you want FET, Opto, tube, etc. But yeah, I'm soon thinning the herd as I now know what I actually use. I may try to mix one as you have done, using primarily Waves SSL. I think I'll enjoy not having to freeze so soon.

 

Definitely worth grabbing for that price indeed, I bought the Studio Classics Collection way back when which consisted of the API collection, the SSL4000 collection along with the (ne))V(e) series, I know a lot of people aren't big on the V series, I love the API2500 and still use it as often as I did when I first got it, I've gotten good millage out of all of them to be honest including the V series. That was before Waves started to focus on being more competitive in the pricing department, It's a very decent, quick to use channel strip, So long as one leaves off the quite frankly useless "analog" option...It is a bit of no brainer for $29.

Always pleased to see Waves offering their stuff at very competitive price points, The improvement in the quality of plugins available nowadays from the world of freeware through one man developers to small teams and of course up to and including the biggest commercial names, That can only improve also which is great.

Yeah same here now especially with that new lower price it might just be the next purchase, imagine being able to map it to Bxconsole SSL when it comes out or you favorite Channel strips it'd be like having a killer desk,mixing with the screen off.
