What are you listening to now?

  1. Jim was kind of a dick head. He had bought a property on Maui down Hana way which had a path to the ocean that local fishermen had been using for centuries. He voiced his disapproval, told the fishermen not to trespass even after being invited to come and fish with the fellows, actually a wonderful honor and a peace offering. Since these folk and their ancestors had been using the access for hundreds of years they paid him no mind at all, and rightly so. In response Nabors build a fence which was easily bypassed, which in turn was replaced by a high stone wall barrier to keep his perceived trespassers out. Well, one early morning a loud blast was heard as the wall was obliterated by C-4 plastic explosive. Afterwards the fishermen used the path without a peep from old Jim.

  3. This was my daughter's favorite song when she was about three or four years old. She had me draw a picture of Bobby Brown, instructing me on exactly how he looked and which she proudly hung on a wall of her bedroom.

  8. My old friend Tish booked Billy Cobham to come to Brooklyn College in perhaps the early summer of 1982 to give a drum clinic that I was fortunate to have been given the heads up to attend. There weren't many people in witness, perhaps 25 tops. Cobham set up his kit outdoors in this little sitting area in the back of the music building, and for the next hour or so blew everybody's mind. I remember him being so incredibly rock solid, and besides that aspect of his playing, truely helped me transcend my idea of how incredibly musical a percussionist can be. It was a magical afternoon and one that I will always remember.

  15. Live...amazing! With Bill Putman and his first series 610 preamp and Frankie's personal Telefunken U47 which he affectionately named "Tele".

    And a tiny addendum:::::http://www.coutant.org/u47/sinatra.mp3

  18. How musical can a drummer be using just a snare and two sticks? Blessed are we in witness, forever now in peace. This, the answer to to every question that has ever been polled, but certainly not the last.
