    Hello,
I ran into some problems which I had not encountered before with Omnisphere. Certain patches are, well, insanely loud. I'm not talking a few dbs, I'm talking: it either crashes my soundcard in the best case scenario and I have to restart Ableton or I jump out of my seat and I'm nearly deaf for a minute  .
Has anyone encountered this ? Is this some kind of timebomb ? Or should I reinstall everything ?

Could you gives us the names of 2-3 patches that are like that?

Then we can check them out, otherwise we can just speculate.

Crashes your soundcard by being loud?
Can't say i have ever seen that happen.

Maybe put a limiter on the track before you start patch browsing?

I know that all of those EDM patches in Omnisphere 2 are loud and obnoxious. But I guess that's what the kids are into these days, those BEEP BOOP FART NOISE sounds.

Just turn down the volume on the loud presets and resave them should fix it
and as gangamstyle said always use a limiter ,the best low cpu one i found is boost 11,
you can set it up on the master buss at +6 +3 or 0 that way it will save your ears, heart and monitors
and won't get in the way of your mix.Think of it as a lifeguard that is always there when you need it most,
