    Hmmm interesting question

    Heavyocity
    • 7.5 GB uncompressed (4.8GB on Disk with NI lossless compression)
    • 3,600+ samples
    • 1500+ NKIs
      • 85 Kits
      • 180+ Kit Grooves
      • 55 Loop Menus
      • 1200+ Single Loop Presets
      • 300 Performance Multis
    8Dio Hybrid Drums
    • 6.4GB (compressed to 2.9GB)
    • New-Generation Hybrid Epic Cinematic Kits
    • +50 Contemporary EDM Kits (Dubstep and Minimal)
    • +50 Modern Ambient and Cinematic Kits
    • +200 EDM Legacy Kits
Think you can "demo" 8DIo also lol but not 100%
Both in region of Kontakt 5.5.1.451 ish lol
Both exactly same price I believe and quite expensive imho at 299 dollars :dunno:
Think Heavyocity Player & encoded whereas 8Dio isn't :dunno:
I also prefer scripting and layout of Heavyocity with Grid, Trigerring FX & loop mutator & multi's on Heavyocity stuff normally absolute quality  & MULTI s on Heavyocity stuff normally superb.
Therefore similar sizes and similar content but Heavyocity slightly larger I reckon with more variation I reckon :dunno:
8Dio possibly more "out the box sounds" but Heavyocity more tweak-ability and ALWAYS quality
From a personal point of view I always find Heavyocity products absolute TOP quality whereas a couple of 8DIO hit and miss but they also good.
Customer support most likely be WAY better with Heavyocity as 8DIO somewhat notorious.
From past experience I personally would opt HEAVYOCITY all day long by a distance however both libraries gonna give you some classic drum sounds etc but for me personally Heavyocity win this one by a distance but depends what you like & need

 In all honesty I've bought several Heavyocity products and never regretted any purchases or ever been disappointed.

I Won't buy 8Dio on general principle as not impressed at all by the horror stories i've heard & their marketing ethics.
Is a shame but that's the way it is as refuse to support those kinds of developers.
Also really like some of their products & probably would have bought several libraries but do they care :dunno:

Another option to consider unless you totally set on Kontakt library or can get it on sale etc is possibly a dedicated VST as in say Softube Heartbeat that was on sale.
Different options & maybe take up more time but another option I guess but at like a quarter the price and possibly more tweaking options and genre portability etc possibly a good consideration :dunno:

Update: I recently got to do a comparison of both and I have to say, 8DIO's hybrid drums are trash. I personally wouldn't even expect a dollar for releasing something that low quality. The library is probably only useful for the demo tracks they made with it. there are maybe 2 kicks used for every kit and presets and even then they sound so similar I wonder if they only have 1 kick. the majority of the library sounds flat and cardboard like with little to no personality. I wouldn't dare call these cinematic drums or edm or dubstep drums. some of the worst drums Ive ever heard. If you already have something like damage or dm-307 or even storm drum 2 I wouldn't waste my time with this. after something like this 8DIO should give up the ghost. just stick to choirs.

DM-307 is fantastic. I'm afraid Hybrid Drums is just awful.

    Heavyocity make really great stuff.
DM-307 is really cool, especialy because of the Grid (amongst other things) and it's less "cinematic oriented" than the previous Evolve stuff with better or at least equal sound and can be foreseen as usable in modern commercial productions..

    I've also tried NOVO, and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by the possibilities of this library;
they've made great progress with the arpegiator ( when it comes to strings or brass, getting something that is playable and responsive from an arpegiator is another story ) LASS had something that was quite unique with the A.R.T and it's still relevant today.

Strezov seems to have some great sounding libraries for the choirs

yeah, 8dio isnt really known for anything but their choirs. Whats your take on the new string lib from them. It sounds good to me and I like the gui a lot because you can dig in real easily get down to business quickly. But Im not well versed with string libs. Im my tracks I still use the NI stuff. Session strings pro and action strings....

Do you mean the repackaged Adagio? It has still some of the problems of the original - they basically sell the same thing under different name.

Definitely go for Heavyocity. Apart from "some patches", all 8dio stuff has proven pretty useless to me. In sample libraries world, Troels Folmann is considered as Mr. Slate when it comes to hype.

Also, consider checking small libraries like Audio Imperia, Wavesfactory (Black Toms), Hybrid Elements CORE, and Daniel James's stuff.

Hybrid Drums is certainly not the worst 8Dio lib, in fact it offers sounds of a very similar character as does Heavyocity DM-307, and I see why Kingvrage has a hard time deciding for which one to get.
In the end, I would most likely buy the lib that sounds better to my ears, and although I can confirm that some 8Dio libs were more than disappointing, Hybrid Drums is definitely one of the more useful incarnations.
