What I'm really waiting for tbh is Zebra 2.8, which will have a brand new skin. It should come soon. Well hopefully...

 

Based on the original skin, i can't imagine it will be as beautiful as massive modular, but it will surely be interesting to see what they come up with in terms of functionality!

 

He showed a preview a couple of months back. Also a video a month ago or so, it's already on AS somewhere.
He's gonna change the knobs (everyone screamed for the lack of vector knobs, so they are coming back) and it's probably not the definitive way it will look when it's ready, but I'm guessing it will be close to that.

Yeah the Massive Modular is already killer, so the extended will indeed rock. Wonder why he just didn't agree with the guy making it to integrate it and make it the default skin. It made me rediscover Zebra, heck even made Zebra one of my goto, and it could have been from the get go, it has always been a fantastic synth, and I understood most of its features pretty quickly, but yeah the basic skins just gives headaches, and rendered the whole thing not very practical to work with.
All his first fx/vsti were ugly to the point to make them annoying to use. More Feedback Machine is the same. Although it came out a while back, it was excellent from the get go, still is and can compare with a lot of delays that come out today in term of features (sometimes it's even better than many), but working with it with its initial interface is kind of a torture.
But for this one too some third p skins solve the issue, and make ir both great product and fun to work with !
I wish filterscape had a usable alternative skin too. Also his old scholl design, and while I love this filter unit, it's not really the greatest interface to use.

 

Have been sadly checking the u-he forum almost every day for ages in the hope of either RePro5 or Zebra 2.8 showing up. But you know what its like waiting for Urs...... "it’s done when it’s done".

Believe the reason for 2.8 skin is to test new UI elements for the mythical Zebra 3. Wish he would update Ubik as well.

Currently using the Massive Modular though, great skin.

He is after all the man who created Diva....Probably enjoys to make the crowd wait in agony...
