Hi guys,

I want to introduce myself. My real name is David going by the name of SignalFlow. I would like to offer my help to anyone in need of inspiration in thier music. I have been producing for awhile now and wanted to see if anyone wants to collaborate or anything. I've been pretty busy with my life as I now have a 1 year old boy that is literally my world and most of my time but I love making music and its my passion.

what genre do you produce... I may be interested in working with you on a track if it's anything to do with UK Bounce, UK Hardcore or Makina.

 

These sound like the most made up genres I've heard yet!

....ignore me, I'm an old school guy that just sticks to pretty much rock, pop, electronic and hip hop and have grown bbored of the gazillion genres out there nowadays that have no sense of tradition or identity because their longevity lasts about 3 weeks, 4 if your lucky

 

UK Bounce has just formed from house. UK Hardcore formed from happy hardcore from the early 90's... I still make old school hardcore but with a modern twist and makina... Well makina is just a head fuck of a genre.

 

Don't know about all those genres but I like making Techno, House, and dabble in Bass Music. Im up for anything though.

I can see your point but music is about evolving. How do you think electronic music was created or even hip hop at that?

Oh well, u got over the struggly difficult stuff. Keep talking to him, and (once he starts talking fluently) u watch TV, turn on subtitles to get his reading in gear. It defo gets better from now! I like ur music; if I was less lazy I would defo collab w/ u, but I can barely concentrate on my own shit!

Yeah, it's always good for (when they get a bit older) ur kids to feel less lonely, although having twins would be something like sleepless hell! At least u got a lil while of peace. It's amazing how much neurotic panic @ every lil thing w/ 1st child (OMG NO climbing stairs D8) and kinda total relax / encourage (stair races =) w/ next!

Advice? Kids (from now on, rly) take their cues from u, if u smile @ someone, ur kid knows they're ok & will chill. If u frown @ someone, get ready for tears! This can be accidentally useful for diverting surprise grandma visit.

With boys, reverse psychology & competitiveness is prolly the way to go. "i'm gonna eat all my vegetables / get ready / etcs before u!", "I can't understand u when u use that (whiny) voice", "ur not allowed 2 play outside all day, no using sunscreen & sneaking out" etcs.

Anyway, it's kinda golden age once they start talking. Until they're teenagers, at least =) Don't forget - they're never too young to learn piano!

I wouldn't have any idea what sub genre to call the music I write, or even listen too. All these 100's of sub genres seem kinda silly to me but to each their own. Most of the stuff I like is a mixture of loads of styles and roots. I really wouldn't know what to cal, it. Maybe fusion? I don't know, nor does it really matter I guess. Anyway, I like Signalflow's post. Kinda refreshingly uplifting for a change.

Haha thanks for this. All the parental advise is welcome. The kid/s will definitely learn an instrument or two for sure.

 

I had plans for a violin virtuoso, but it's basically impossible! XD Maybe when they're older... Anyway, good luck. Hearing kids describe Omnisphere as "rubbish" is quite an eye (ear?) opener. At least they're still bashing away @ keyboards, so hopefully they'll learn a bit...
