I own a MOTU 828 Mk2 FW and love it. Tons of ins and outs and I think it sound great.

However, i have stumbled across a recent issue. The MOTU Audio Console software will not open. It used to, but since Creators Update it won't, even as admin or in compatibility modes. It will not open by trying to open the "audio control panel" from within a DAW either. This means that my buffer settings are currently stuck. I can change the sample rate through Windowd or DAWs, but not the buffer rate.

I have sent in a support ticket to MOTU and they believe there is bo issue and they can't recreate the issue, claiming it works fine on their testing with Windows 10 and the MOTU device.

Is anybody else getting similar issues or have any theories on what might be the issue?

I have a 828 mk2 FW too, and I always had this. Pretty much. Never got it fixed...

 

How do you change the buffer then?

Mine was working fine-ish before the Creators Update, but I haven't changed it for months so could be something else long before that causing it to not work. Even since I've had it this app seemed to open intermittently though.

 

Changing buffer is working fine with DAW's help (PT12/FL12). I would like more than "only" 1024 buffer though...

Well I had it open intermittently too, but I just tried right now and it's not opening, it's doing this like 95% of the time I would try opening it. That's why I'm thinking maybe there is correlation between our issues, despite the W7/W10 fact? Cause we obviously use the same drivers version
