    Hi guys first post here,

    I wanted to know if it is possible to add multiple kontakt libs into a single library in the kontakt tab area?

    for example:
    i wish to combine "NI Classic pianos" and make a custom wallpaper for them and have them load under 1 tab.

    At the moment they are all separate, eg. Berlin,Vienna,New york, etc

    It should be possible through these steps:
    1. Create folder, name it for example "NI Pianos"
    2. Rename the Samples folder in each of these libraries to unique names (for example "newyork" "vienna" "berlin" "upright")
    3. Create folder Samples in "NI Pianos"
    4. Copy these folders (in 2.) to Samples in "NI Pianos"
    5. Create folder Instruments in "NI Pianos"
    6. Copy all patches from Instruments folder in each of the pianos to the Instruments folder in "NI Pianos"
    7. Open Kontakt, choose batch resave and locate the "NI Pianos" folder
    8. When prompted for missing samples, again locate the "NI Pianos" folder.
    9. After the resaving is complete (it takes some time), follow these steps to add this folder to Library tab (taken from Kontakt 5.0.2 release):

    Code:
    1.Add the regkeys like below. "k2libxxxx" should be less than 1000.

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Native Instruments\Content]
    "k2lib0019"="My Library"

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Native Instruments\My Library]
    "ContentDir"="D:\\KONTAKT\\My Library\\"
    "Visibility"=dword:00000003

    2.Create empty file in the library dir.

    3.Rename it to "My Library_info.nkx"

    10. Make your own wallpaper, rename it to wallpaper.tga and move it to your "NI pianos" root folder.

    Keep your info files from all NI piano libraries, because without them, the patches won't work. It's useful to store all 8 info files (nkx, nkc) in root "NI pianos" folder.
    Also when you complete this procedure, you can remove the separate libraries in Kontakt tab. Kontakt should store the encryption keys in the registry even after removal.

    Hope this helps.. :wink:

    Thanks for the reply mate
    I went through the steps but i seem to have stumped on step 7:

    7. Open Kontakt, choose batch resave and locate the "NI Pianos" folder

    i get an error message "This patch is encrypted and cannot be loaded unless the respective library is registered properly" :dunno:

    I have got all the .nkc and .nkx in the root folder aswell, cant seem to figure out why it giving me an error

    Sorry, I forgot to mention that you need to add all these libraries first to Library Tab to decrypt these patches. Then you should be able to resave it. In kontakt 4.2.x environment you may need to add them more than once (by registering and removing, 3rd pass is usually working). If it however still fails, send me your e-mail adress through PM and I'll send you my unencrypted patches.

    For future reference, what kontakt version are you using?

    You could always just organize the libraries however you want in the Quickload menu.

    So many people are obsessed with adding libraries via the "add library" tab, but the Quickload menu is so much easier to work with.
