Any pointers or preset for getting this lead sound around 2.20?

That sounds like a vocoder, pitched upwards.

My initial though was "Oh, this is a voice, Melodyned to shits (tuned, pitched/octaved, formant filtered), bandpass-ish filtering and EQ, SC compressed delay and reverb".
So I had to try it. Grabbed a mic and sang it one time. Haha!:

If I had more time I'd add more vibrato (automated plugin or with voice) and do more intricate Melodyning and pitching tricks to get closer to the original. I did this in like 10 minutes.
Edit: Mine is octaved +24 semis cause I sang it so low (it was pretty late). If I had sung one octave up I'd only need to transpose it +12 and it would sound even better (more flute'ish).

Erm, that's just a pan flute, prettified with effects.

Yeah agreed with @shomyca ; also it could be a voice sample resampled into melodyne or similar + some post process, and really nicely done though.

Are you sure? It's true that it sounds like a flute but at some points you can clearly hear a voice sound, maybe it's a vocoder/melodyne voice + flute lead? That would explain all the "character" it has.

I know what you mean. When the melody goes down at the end there seem to be formants, but I would think that it's from a formant filter rather than a voice. But sure, layering is always an option.

I think you got it right. Formant filter would be more natural and the result in the track sounds natural (more than a basic resampled-rescored voice), I think that's it.

It might be an Eventide H910 Harmonizer, or a VST emulation of the same. There's something odd about the sound that reminds me of the vocal thickening trick that we used to do with a 910 back in the late 70's.

Of course, I could be talking through my arse here. Melodyne plus delays plus vocoder would do the same job as an all-in-one effect like the H910.
