How to compare two audio files to discover if they are equal? And how to compare a file with files in a folder to find duplicates? Even if they have different name?

    I'll explain my problem:
I have two folder in my laptop with some wav audio files and i need to merge them. However, I know for sure that some audio files in the first folder are the same in the second folder BUT with different names.

    SO,
I am looking for a way to find and delete duplicates of a list of files...The same we do with "names", I'd like to do with audio streaming content of wav files.
Like bit-to-bit comparison in text documents, if possibile

Seems like you'd have to go the time consuming route. Easiest way to shorten the process would be to go ahead and put all the files in one folder. Then set the folder to list the files by their size. It's probably the most refined way to list them because it's to the nearest kb. At least you can narrow it down to what audio clips are an exact match in size so you know which ones you need to take a look or listen at.

You can do three checks eader md5 sha1 or crc32
This is a program i use to sort presets, soundbanks ,midi files and sounds.
Frist browse directory ,then press ( add ),in the options you can also set sha1 or crc32 ,md5 is set by default
and tick ( search subdirectories )
Hit ( start ) and after the scan, press the tab ( select all except one ) thats if it's a very big list
or you can tick each one yourself then press ( delete selected files )
you should also make a backup of the folder before you start.
