I called this ep "the teknomage" because of our great user. I liked the name and about a year ago I made a track called "The teknomage" which never saw the light, but it was something different. Some weeks ago I picked it up again and gave me inspiration to write some new stuff and here we are. ps: if you download the whole ep you download that track too, as a bonus: which is really bad to be honest, unfinished and not polished, but it's funny

    New ep, hooray!

    1. Anathema: some techno/ambient/downtempo I really don't know how to call this stuff so there's no point. the kick starts going every beat after a little while and the song builds up
    2. Sourcerer: this is more ambient-ish but still it has a sort of 808 kicking every beat for almost the whole duration. I had some problems with this track: i sampled a pad from diva, then i modified it etc, etc. some days later I actually managed to forgot what chords they were (it's one of the background sound you can hear) and basically long story short everything I tried to add later sounded out of tune lol. got tired and really angry and finished the track without adding more
3 and 4. Warlock's path: i'd say it's a "minimal" track but I don't know, it has few elements and builds up slowly. the six minutes version, the cut one, is the last six minutes of the full mix. Towards the end really is heavy and I kinda liked it

any feedback is appreciated, i had fun making these and I'm really happy with the results, especially since I had never done tracks in this style before.

    peace!

I must say I fell rather honoured. Listening to it reminded me a bit of Leftism, and a time when I used to drive a friend of mine to Dj at a club In Brighton once a week. For something to do I'd mess around with the lighting rig. The club was usually pretty dead, as it was Wednesday night. One night the club was empty, when in walked the 2 guys from Leftfield. My friend recognized them, and told me who they were, so he ended up playing to Leftfield for the rest of the night, with me doing crazy shit with the lights; full on strobe and smoke. They stayed the whole night drinking and dancing, and at the end came up to us and said "That's one of the best nights we've ever had in a club, cheers." So I'll leave you with one of my favourite tracks from the album.

Really like this, and to be honest, I don't think it really needs anything adding.

I just listened to the EP in one go. I didn't plan to, in fact I just tuned in on track 1 to quickly see what you mean by techno. I expected some old-school music and wasn't very keen on listening to it. Instead I got something different. Something really good. I don't know how to classify it, and I don't really care. What you achieved is astonishing me. Even with minimal instrumentation you manged to let it groove! And it's this groove that lets me continue listening.
My absolute favorite is "Warlock's Path" in the full mix (3.). For me this is a masterpiece. I know this was probably made to let people on drugs dance to it loosely, but I admit just listening to it even on headphones gets me to shake my head and stump my feet. Each time the hi hats fade in I am in full motion on my chair, the 1 minute bridge after 5 minutes is playing around so easily with resonance that I just smile while listening to this virtual analog-type pads and the build-up towards the end is so mean (since it makes you starting the song all over).
It's moments like these that I realize my own songs are crap and missing exactly this virtuous immanent groove.

    Thank you for sharing this.

That's a big problem tulamide, the genre thing! i thought techno was the closest one to fit, but I really can't tag the music properly. If i were to type all the inspiration tracks/genres I had when making these, the list would be very long
i'm really honoured by your comments guys and I really appreciate it. You see, I make music more for myself/learning, because I like it. Seeing that people love some of my tracks really makes me happy and fills my heart with joy and motivation to keep going on in life, thanks a lot -i actually just shed a tear while writing this

Nothing to say. It gives me all these feelings... Timeless nostalgia, unknown places, calm tension.. but like - it's gonna be ok.

    Just, thank you!
