Hi Guys,
I have an other problem with the same Addictive Drums 2 software (r2r).
I had no problem to install it on my computer but when i launch it and try a kit sample, no sound.
I know the sound works on my computer because the test in the configuration works.
Can't find a solution to this problem. I see the sample is working on the drum kit displayed.

Could you please help me?

check your DAW's audio device

 

Yep, as SirSillySausage said, check your audio device on your DAW; or if you are using it as standalone software check its settings. Also make sure all your libraries are set in the correct spot and that you "told" the program where these are.

Hey people, let me tell you that YESTERDAY my addictive drums 2 was functioning Perfectly in Cubase 5 with my electric drumkit since one year, but today i sat down to record something, i open Cubase 5 - > Addictive Drums 2 and SURPRISE ! : "NoGUIfound"! If Downloaded, make sure the zip was extracted correctly. Otherwise check your installation."

It was working Perfectly since one year so i didn´t install it wrong. I did not change anything on the PC (windows 7) for this to happen.
I tryed all of the solutions of this post and none worked :S

What is this? please i need your help. Thank you

 

I ran into this same issue where I followed the instructions in the R2R text file exactly as they were except the program I'm having the issue with is Addictive Keys. I noticed that when I loaded the VST into my DAW (FL Studio) while the .iso was mounted, everything worked fine. I ran the placer.exe and setup.exe as instructed and had a flawlessly working VST. Once I unmounted the .iso, I would get the error message to check if my program was installed correctly, etc. I noticed that the placer.exe was directing the library location to drive (G/addictive keys, where I was running the .iso from.

Solution?

1. Mount the iso.
2. Copy both of the "App" and "Sound Data" folders from the extracted ZIP to your choice of destination. (This fixes the GUI error)
3. Copy the placer.exe into the same folder and run it. (This will allocate the Library (Sound Data) of ADD Drums/Keys to the current folder which should be on your HDD)
4. Run the setup.exe and install the standalone or (x32) (x64) files to your location of choice.
(You can have all the files (App, Sound Data and .dll's) located in one folder, mine are in: C:/programFiles(x86)/VstPlugins)
5. Unmount the .iso

I got mine working on windows 7 64bit. Im using reaper. it works stand alone and as a plug in. I put everything in the folder where it put the .dll file and it started. I was getting the error everyone else was too. Im wondering for people that it worked for a long time and then stopped if you need to block it from the internet.

 

When I run AD2_Library_Placer.exe, it shows nothing. There is no confirmation about place where the libraries will be set.
Disabled UAC but no success. Any ideas?

Follow previous advice and also take into account that Windows may require the following.

Run all install and patch programs as Administrator (right-click, run as administrator)

Take ownership of folders (at parent level)

Remove write protection from folders (at paerent level)

Default install locations are:

C:\Program Files\XLN Audio\Addictive Drums 2 (stand-alone and uninstall)
C:\ProgramData\XLN Audio\Addictive Drums 2 (App, Sound Data, A2_Library_Placer.exe)
C:\ProgramData\XLN Audio\VST32
C:\ProgramData\XLN Audio\VST64
C:\ProgramData\XLN Audio\XLN Online Installer
C:\ProgramData\XLN Audio\xlnreg.exe

Plugin is installed to your system default (usually C:\Program Files\SteinbergVSTplugins).
My custom location is C:\VSTPlugins which a registry mod.

In the past, I had the Sound Library located with the plugin. This requires relocating the placer app and some registry mods as well but works flawlessly when done correctly.

Keep it simple for no worry, trouble free operation.

Followed advices but still getting bootgui error. My "App" and "Sound Data" path is:

E:\Addictive Drums 2

And plugin installed in:

C:\REAPER\VST\XLN Audio\Addictive Drums 2

Tryed to put App and Sound Data in plugin folder without success too. Do I need to use the default locations to work?

 

Possibly. I am using default for fresh install. Current version seems to be more solid.
R2R or someone who knows what is happening code wise could give a more definitive answer.

Thinking about it, you may be correct. The message would be "Sounds now placed at"?

 

If you do not have a dedicated computer for music production (limited or, no connection to internet),
make sure your anti-virus software is not rumming along with any other non-essential programs.

Have you set up your system for intenese work?

The most straght for guide is on the Avid Pro Tools site. Search for computer or Windows/Mac
optimization.

I you only have one computer, you could use a different profile for audio/gaming versus normal compter use.

I only get that error if I don't register the plugin before opening my DAW. Works fine in windows 10

 

Guys, I've been working with AD2 for some time (I don't remember which release, but it was R2R). Then I had a break, but software-wise nothing changed on my computer. One year ago I wanted to make some beat and "NO GUI Boot found". I've tried reinstalling, other folders, manually cleaned computer afert uninstall (regedit, all "XLN" and "ADDICTIVE" folders, files etc),, visited this forum, tried other releases - It's always "NO GUI Boot found.
Yesterday I tried once more - super detailed clean (again - regedit and deleted all keys with "XLN" or "ADDICTIVE", the same with folders). Read again this thread (there are no other discussions that I've found on the internet about this error and R2R release).

I've tried this version:
XLN.Audio.Addictive.Drums.2.Complete.v2.1.5.Incl.Keygen.HAPPY.NEW.YEAR-R2R

but the keygen does nothing, and I fear it might be an actual virus (I've disabled AVast and Comodo thinking this is a false-positive alarm).
Does someone is using this release and the keygen worked fine?

Oh, and while using "library_placer" everything goes fine, I get the notification that "library is placed at...." and there is a .txt file somewhere in installation/data folder with paths pointing correctly at spcified folders. So I don't think this is the problem.
I'm not a complete noob nor a power-user. I suspect that problem lies somwhere in windows UAC. I think that if I reinstall completely my Windows it would work fine, but... that would be major pain in my back, so I try to avoid this as long as possible.

For example my "program files" folder - when I install (any) VST there - Renoise (that's my DAW) points that it is not accesible with write permission.
So I chose another folder - with no success.

Any Ideas?
Turning on and off things on my Windows, trying various possibilities is pointless if I do it almost randomly. Even point me in a direction, that would be helpfull (if it's Windows problem, maybe some older release leftovers... ?).

 

hahh i had this 20 times. windows defender kills the library placer. i always rar those files. also, run them as admin.

 

But library placer, in my opinion, works just fine. I run all programs as admin. I had trouble with keygen from the 2.1.5 ver.
Although thanks for info I will take Win Defender into consideration.

 

Gotta clear all previous files and make an exception for windows defender.
