    From the manual:
To rename, relocate, or delete a usersaved Patch or Multi, you must use the Mac Finder or
Windows Explorer. Navigate to the User folder, locate the desired files, and rename, relocate,
or delete them using your file manager. Refresh the appropriate Omnisphere Browser(s) to
reflect the changes, by clicking on the "Refresh" button (the circular arrow in the footer of the
    Full Browsers).

So I guess it should work for factory patches too.
    STEAM\Omnisphere\Settings Library\Patches\Factory

  4. I believe that spidervis is correct. Patches are just stored in memory and are not protected.

Thanks for the replies guys, sorry it took me so long to reply. In the factory patches folder I see 3 Data Base Files (Atmosphere, Moog Tribute, Omnisphere). Any ideas?

There are some patches I really love in Omnisphere, but my OCD goes crazy with so many unused patches. I've tried the ratings system and its helped some, but you know how it is.

    Hope All is Well

  6. Hey. You can save the ones that you want to keep in one folder and never have to look at the others if you so wish. You can do it manually. Then the next you open Omnisphere re-read the structure. You can pick the default patch when it opens which I believe will simultaniously open the folder which it is in so you never need to.open or look inside the others. It would be a shame to just delete all the others. A patch is a terrible thing to waste. Your OCD might miraculously dissapate in the future and having all your patches might be cool again some day:yes:

I'm not sure you can delete factory patches. You would have to use some kind of SQL software to open the database file and even if you did and removed individual presets, Multis that are made up using those presets wouldn't sound the same.
I know you said you've tried using the ratings but using stars as a grading system for your favorites then sorting would be the way to go. Remember you can shift-click to (temporarily) mark presets you might want to come back to and I've found that the Model or even Mood categories are a better option to browse than Author.
Click the Venn diagram icon to get the exclude/include options 'Or/And/Not'. You can use these to filter out certain presets.

User presets (prt_omn) you can delete from
    ...\ProgramData\Spectrasonics\STEAM\Omnisphere\Settings Library\Patches
    or
    ...\ProgramData\Spectrasonics\STEAM\Omnisphere\Settings Library\Patches\User

Sorry if I'm misunderstanding you, do you mean move the Data Base File? I might do that and experiment to see if I can move or delete one of those Data Base Files that I don't really use. I totally hear you about saving patches for a later date though. I don't even mind having unused samples leftover if I could just kind of streamline my patch finding approach and not get lost searching through the endless supply of patches. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining. Heh

Damn I was kind of worried about that, I'll definitely try some of the other sorting options. I had no idea about temporarily marking presets so thanks for the heads up there. If I can't get the sorting to work like I want I might just end up saving each preset I like as a Pro Tools preset.

Thanks for the help brothers, I really appreciate it. I gotta say I feel like this is a strange oversight on Spectrasonics part though.

I got curious and started playing around with the Omnisphere Library.db file. There is a way to delete the factory presets. Open the db file with a text editor, I used Notepad++.
There are three separate entries for each preset. If you delete the first and third entries that look like this:
    <FILE name="Acidic Energy Source.prt_omn" offset="0" size="25349"/>
    and
    <ENTRY NAME="Acidic Energy Source" PATH="ARP + Rhythm" >...
the preset doesn't show up in your browser any more. The second entry is a description that won't be referenced if you delete the two listed above. Honestly this is a lot of editing and chances for screwing something up is pretty high. It does affect the Multis too.

  10. Create a folder in Steam naming it anything yout like or use the User folder. Put what you want in it. Re-read the structure. You should be golden.

My brothers thank you so very much. I know I can always count on the Sex/Z crew. I'm off to put this knowledge to use and work on some new tracks.

SLS Ha I must have been pretty blazed, I re-read what you originally said and I don't know what threw me off.

Thanks again everybody. I hope all is well.

you can delete the presets using a text editor but you cannot delete the WAV sources as they're all stored into monolithic files and linked to absolute offset addresses.
so, you won't save any space deleting presets.

said that, it could be possible to squeeze out the unwanted presets but then you should manually edit all the offset addresses, on top of this it could not work anyway due to copy protection or whatever.

if it works it would be possible to make a super-light version of omnisphere converting the high quality embedded WAVs into low-Q mono sounds, maybe even to a 10:1 ratio so 3-4 GB instead of 36GB.

Spectrasonics should provide a kind of external standalone Omni Manager, a Kontakt exporter would come handy.
