One of the best persons and visionary.
Very recently, Dr.Kakehashi knew his friend Dave Smith wanted to get back the Sequential brand from Yamaha under his own name. So he personally called Yamaha's president and arranged for Smith to get back the Sequential brand name from Yamaha for no cost at all. Goes to show the integrity of character and big heart of a great man who gave so much to the electronic music world.

A synthesizer is an instrument just like any other. The only problem is that too many people who have no clue about anything music start with playing one. That's all.

He was 87. I wish I can reach this age, with all my sanity of course.

I remember that I was always drooling at the D50 as a teenager. Of course, I never had near enough cash to buy one.

Ah that's sad news, read a interview with him few weeks back, looked like he had a oxygen tube, didn't realise he was so close to passing away though.
