Looking for 4-5 cool guys.. 1 stock piles massive presets, another sylenth, serum, omnisphere, etc etc... This way we can use our time more wisely. I'm not trying to sound like a hoarder but ....

What, Cool guy? lol.. Here's my idea. We only need like 4-5 people. 1 handles massive like the guy above, i'll handle serum, we have another who does sylenth and spire and maybe 1 more popular synth.. Each person is responsible for getting the newer presets and then we zip them all up every week or month and share.

I've been stockpiling sylenth and spire banks for quite some time. The real problem is finding people that won't cut corners on organization and naming. But a private group? No thanks lol.

my spire and sylenth are weak! I have all the serum and omnisphere.. So together we have them all. Not a private group just working together and we can release to audioz as a benefit to the community.

Instead of stockpiling every preset known to man here's a novel idea. learn how to use and program synths.

That way you can make every sound you need and maybe, just maybe, you could make something fucking original.

Absolutely. Sound designers are emperors with no clothes for the blinkered hard of thinking.
When you buy a car, do you need someone to come round and drive it for you?
They're synths, that's what we do, we fiddle and play with them.
'Kin el, best take up fishing ffs, but even then some would need a guy to put the maggot on the hook for them. :lmao:

What... You guys sound so ignorant. I'm trying to do something for the community and myself and you're over here telling me I should know how to make every sound known to man? Ignorance is bliss

I wouldn't necessarily say "ignorant" as they have a valid point of view or opinion that is in some ways correct. That should be the long term goal I guess
However I agree with yourself in that I think it's a good idea but don't get the private group bit :dunno:
However I think it's a cool idea as long as it doesn't become say obsessive to the point of your simply interested in as many preset packs as there are out there over the valid point of creating your own sounds.
I also agree that long term a good knowledge of synthesis is the long term goal and it will serve you real well in many different areas.
However, I can also see your point and at the end of the day we have ALL used presets at some time.
Personally I see them as a great learning tool upon which to build and in that aspect only really see your idea in a positive way.
It would maybe also be good if there was say some room to discuss the packs and look at the methods used to build the presets also rather than maybe a simple stash etc. :dunno:
Think it's a good idea myself as long as the obsession of collecting doesn't over-ride the ideas behind the construction.
I'd happily contribute in some aspect if able. Nice one  :mates:

I already know guys who post stuff like this have
It started with Fozzy and demonoid getting taken down.. Now there is no way a modern producer can keep up with testing out and listening to the newer presets/sounds without wasting all of their time searching/downloading. That's why if we get a couple of people together (private group was the wrong term used) we could greatly benefit this community and monthly release an updated preset pack for serum, massive, spire, sylenth and omnisphere without wasting our precious time.

Yeah I can see your point's & see no harm in it whatsoever
I personally would use such a reference to look at what packs I'm interested in looking at rather than maybe sorting through loads of random stuff.
Personally like I mentioned only really see it as a positive thing for those people that would be interested.
I use prolly u-he synths the most with say some NI & other more obscure stuff.
Any sort of focused reference is normally pretty useful to have I reckon :bow:

EGs and LFOs and FM! Oh my! There's so much power in an envelope. What Willum and Aliens say might sound harsh but I'm sure it's more tough love than it is beratement.
Demonoid is back, by the way and I guess this is me enabling.

    No. You got it wrong.
Doing something for the community = doing something for everyone of us.
Doing something to the community = doing something for a private group of 4-5 "cool" guys.

I make and release presets professionally. I've also made free soundbanks for the community here. They aren't mutually exclusive. Here's a novel idea: take the stick out of your ass.

Yeah Kind of agree with that as in why could say everyone not contribute rather than exclusively 4-5 guys unless there a reason.
    :dunno:
You could always have the main guys or whatever u calling them and everyone was free to contribute also.
There so many synths for example that hard to associate say numbers.
I mean I use a lot of Rob Papen stuff which alone comes to more than 4-5.
How would you decide which synths are covered & which forms of synthesis.
Example additive, subtractive wavetable, FM. I mean sampling can also be involved :dunno: etc etc

Like the idea of this, I've got a lot of banks to help out! What might be a better idea is as a collective we create some master banks (quality basses, leads, plucks etc) for various synths, would save a lot of time searching for decent presets to build from if they are handpicked sounds collected from all the banks. You probably know that so many commercial banks are mostly full of average sounds but contain one or two good presets to work from. I'm not saying creating your own sounds isn't a bad thing and agree with above but having a solid arsenal of presets to use as starting points makes a lot of sense.
