    Hi,

New member here. I have tried to create a simple dance track based on some of the elements of 80's synth scene. I am very much a novice when it comes to music making, but very passionate about learning it. Would love to know how you guys feel about this attempt of mine, much appreciate your valuable comments and suggestions on the same.

    Cheers!

Sounds nice as always.. just a little bit too much reverb on the drums - I mean it lacks of punch
and this is synthwave or retrowave more than dance track ;) - Anyway thanks for backing me in these old days

EDIT: I think I'm already following you on you tube

    Welcome on board!!

Thanks @jvne for the warm welcome. Yep, you are right on retrowave part (bit hesitant to call it such as some experts might say i have not utilized all the major elements of a typical synthwave track).

I was kinda sucked into having extra reverbs (few tutorials that I had followed on synthwave was banging on how adding that extra bit of reverb gave more 80s vibe to the music) but will surely try to minimize (or be more judicious in) their use in my next tracks.

I have been trying whatever I could to learn this particular genre (I absolutely love this genre). Still a very long way to go for me, though.

Once again, thank you so much for for your support.

    Cheers!

Yeah.. kind of like it aswell here.. Can hear influences all over the place from the good old days. Adding a snare and a little more punch and in some areas i would say its close to great things like Modern Talking etc.. Keep up the good work and welcome..

Reminds me of those old Italo Disco tracks from the 80's so you're spot on there. A lot of them were really cheesy but great fun and they did feature some heavy-ish drum sounds so I don't see any problem. Probably needs a little more tweaking and polish in places but a good effort.

Thanks for the nice words. You are spot on on Italo-Disco's influence (as you correctly said, many of them are cheesy but i absolutely worship the genre as it gives me immense pleasure + nostalgia when listening :) ).

Will sure try to build on this and make better tracks in the future.

    Cheers!

Better than expected. I'd say bassline is too low and in the verse I cant hear one, add a lot more punch to it but the bass synth is right for the track. The drums are too repetitive, needs more interesting fills and something else going on but the drum sounds work. Intro also too long and random and a few chords that sound wrong but if you can tighten it up and focus on a hook then it wouldnt be a bad track. Bridge is good but again the bassline too low. As it stands its more like a Coldplay take on the 80's.
