I made a live set and then I put the audio that i've recorded. But now i' have lost the original audio fine and i'd like to extract stereo audio file from the video .mp4 that i've got. I tried to extract with logic pro/ableton but it's a mono file in the daw! If i listen the video, of course it's stereo

    Why?

    Any software?

    [.mp4] is just a wrapper.

Audacity can rip the audio from your video (depending on what format you have encoded into the video file.)

You might need LAME and ffMpeg libs as well to make it work. You can Dr.Google and make sure, there are probably a few guides out there on how to do it. Best part all that stuff is open source and you can find derivatives to fit your particular conundrum.

With VLC (I think most of us already have) you can easily convert Videos to .OGG, .FLAC or to MP3

Loading the vid into IzotopeRX will give you the audio. (File->Export to save it out)

As @mozee said, mp4 is just a wrapper. You don't know the format of the audio file - stream in your vid (although I bet it's aac)

Easy way: take VLC as @twoheart suggested, open it - Media - Convert/Save - Add (file), save in audio format of your choice.

Without conversion (if you want to extract audio): get a program like MediaInfo (https://mediaarea.net/en/MediaInfo/Download), open the file and look for the format of the audio stream.
Download ffmpeg, put your yourvideo.mp4 and ffmpeg.exe in the same directory (put it on C:\, if you only have one file), open Command Prompt, go to that directory (C:\) and type:

    ffmpeg -i yourvideo.mp4 -vn -acodec copy youraudio.xxx

(.xxx is the format that you got from MediaInfo - like youraudio.aac)
-i option specifies the input file
-vn option is used to skip the video part
-acodec copy will copy the audio stream keeping the original codec

This way you extract the audio the way it was recorded. You must then convert it to .wav or other format that you need.

If you have Ableton, Reaper ( or any daw that supports basic video integration)
Drop the video on a track and export as Audio.
Make sure WARP is not activated on the sample/video track in Ableton.
    Very simple.
