    Hi All,

You must all know that feeling when you've been working on something so long you've lost all objectivity. Well I've struggled with this track trying to understand exactly what's needed. The mix down was tough too, was sounding shit and couldn't understand wtf i'd done then realised i'd been listening in mono for about an hour LOL.
I'd be really interested to get some feedback on it.

Is it too busy, does it flow well, tell a story, is there enough music in it, does it get too repetitive?

    thanks in advance.

this is not going to be helpful i know

I enjoyed, but it seemed a bit too generic for me. Like, it's missing its unique thing, character, or something. not saying it's bad, but it isn't really memorable -at least for me- while others ambient track got stuck in my mind. maybe for field recordings, some melodies, some other stuff. this doesn't catch on me, but i love the percussions

It actually is helpful, thanks for your honesty, I'm not here to receive praise but criticism which will hopefully propel me to make better music. I kind of agree about the genericness, Its interesting how some very simple ambient tracks get stuck in the mind and others just pass by. Maybe I'll work on it more or just see it as an alright track which was important to make.

That first 45 seconds. Since you are the author - I would like to ask you - What purpose does 00:00 - 00:45 serve ? It seemed like a lot of time for so few notes IMHO.

I like this. Great sounds that def have a mood. Kind of like driving home after a break up.

After establishing your three-note theme until around 3:35 it disappears for a good chunk of the middle. I frankly miss it until 5:05 when it reappears. I'd like to see it morph and play off the drums while remaining recognizable. It is the melody my ears latch on to, and a nice one at that.

    Does that make sense?

I agree with the previous comments about that beginning being a bit drawn out.

Well I wanted to add mystery and space but after your suggestion it gets to where it needs to go quicker without it so thanks.

I love it. It moves me. Sorrowful but cool in an almost edifying way. I love long intros but I've been told I'm exceedingly patient. Though sometimes it takes me a while to pick up on things that everyone else seems to get instantly so, yeah...who knows. I turned up the bass and laid down in front of my sub and with that reverb and that percussion it's totally my style of groove.

    :)

[Before reading any of the other comments] Boring comes to mind. It sounds like a demo for a glitch sample pack. I prefer glitch to be used sparingly, to help make a point in music or to add an effect. I can see you're wrestling with a problem and I think the problem is that you have foresaken 'music' for trying to create music with the sounds of 'technical problem' which is what glitch means. The clicks annoy me and tell me no story. But maybe as an experimental work that demands more shoe-gaze listening might reveal some genius which is not obvious to a lover of happy music :)

And thats why this forum is so damn interesting as we all come from such different places, styles, influences. But @Thankful, I know what you mean re using glitch sparingly say like Max Cooper who I think is amazing.
Everyones comments here are helpful both positive and negative, and I'm trying to put my ego aside so I can really hear what people are saying. thanks.

First impression quite bland. Give more movement, variety, space, tension etc. etc.
The whole music seems out of tune.
i wouldn't even debate the mono stereo thing.
I'm sorry but it's that bad. :dunno:
But keep making music anyway.. Listen to all genres of music.. You will get better. It is a learned skill.

I'm liking the vibe, kinda sad..........but picking up, resolved. Maybe it could be condensed a little?

And I would've liked to hear a vocal echoing the vibe......even if it was just fragments.

    Nice moosh
