is this a windows only update? Sylenth is telling me i have the latest update which 3.020

In my account page there are two links (WIN & MAC) and I can confirm about Win version only (installed and tested).

 

Latest Mac is 3.0.2.0

 

v3.021 is the latest Windows update but I had this one for over a month now. Latest Mac is 3.0.2.0.

On my systems, when I instanciate Sylenth and there is a new update it automatically opens a popup that notifies me.

Is it just me or has the interface been given a subtle facelift since v2? Everything looks slightly sharper and better

 

Every new UI has a better style (try the one called "Kautschuck").

 

very cool DAW,can say one of the best in the market till now, actually is a bit expensive for my wallet yet 166.80 euros ,but willing to purchase next month

IDK why there is no synth better than sylenth1 at same CPU usage.

CPU Usage = Sylenth1(3) < Dune2(5) < Spire(6) < Hive(18) [Basic Saw Patch] [3,5,6,18 are cpu usage in Ableton Live 9]

I think Spire and Hive are useless if you have Dune 2 & CPU is real issue for you.

That's what I think.

Do they fix what they broke? Or it has been broken in v2? So if first, they restore updated new version, or intentionally broke and fix. If second, v2 is unusable and buggy and doesn't sound well at all :D

Well, sound quality costs CPU cycles. However, it is not the absolute rule. We shouldn't let developers who make shitty and slow code think we like their synths because we believe that synths that use more CPU immediately sound better.

I was actually thinking of u-he synths as soon as I saw your message. They do sound really good. Only in u-he case I'm not really sure if they could be optimised more and give us the same quality of sound.

Anyway, I wanted to ask if anybody knows is there are some changes to the Sylenth1's sound engine in v3? Does the filter and overdrive sound any better? v2 is really old and u-he synths spoiled my ears. I find it hard to find a really nice sounding synths lately. As nice as u-he Repro-1, Bazille, and Diva. I've put aside my hardware for the time being and been fiddling with software. There really are some great synths. Spire and Serum, too, but not much anything else.

Now when I play with some other synths like Rob Papen's, Image Line and Linplug, they generally sound like shit to me. Arturia synths also generally sound like shit in comparison. Except maybe Matrix-12, Prophet, and SEM emulations. I think they did make some progress with these. But Moog Modular, ARP 2600, CS-80 emulations... those are rather crappy sounding now. They didn't innovate the code much even the new versions. I think they rely on realistic looking GUIs too much, to deceive people into thinking they hear something they don't.

My new love is TAL-Sampler. You should give that one a listen. In general TAL synths sound top-notch to my ears, too. Gosh how times changed. There's so many shitty VST instruments it's rather appalling. The developers claim this and that, but it's still 2003 shitty code, thin sounding, aliasing like shit, no saturation and non-linearities. That's simply unacceptable in 2017. Loads of them try to trick people with 3D realistic GUIs... I don't make music with my eyes, nor do people who isten to the music see those fake 3D crappy GUIs to be affected by them.
