    SPL Microplugs

Using the same legendary Differential Envelope Technology as the original Transient Designer Hardware, these SPL Microplugs boast a newly updated modeling algorithm that matches the sound and behavior of the original hardware closer than ever before.

Each Microplug is adapted from a knob on the Transient Designer Plus plugin: Attacker Plus adds punch and depth to transients; De-Verb Plus reduces and attenuates reverb and decay events, and Mo-Verb Plus accentuates and emphasizes them. All come equipped with an onboard latency-free limiter and dry/wet control, allowing total flexibility across a wide range of sounds.

    ■ Attacker Plus ($99,00)

Punch up the attack of percussive sounds with this Microplug featuring the attack portion of SPL’s Transient Designer Plus.

    ■ De-Verb Plus ($79,00)

The De-Verb Plus Microplug employs SPL’s renowned Transient Designer processing to seamlessly pull room tone and/or reverb out of your audio.

    ■ Mo-Verb Plu ($79,00)

This SPL Microplug allows you to bring up the ambience of a space or the sustain on a transient quickly and easily

New fad: upper perspective on the knobs on the GUI. I wonder when this GUI stupidity with fake perspective on a *flat* monitor will stop.

I think Steven Slate plugins started it. Thankfully some of the best plugin manufacturers don't follow suite. I just want normal flat knobs so I can see the value clearly. That's all. If I want any kind of 3D perspective I can have it when I look at my hardware, and 3D perspective knobs will never make them sound like hardware, nor make them sound better, for that matter. Only usability suffers.

    I agree with Sinewave...

Also, I own Transient Designer Plus, and I think I should be given this as an update. Sometimes I just want to modify attack... so it makes sense.

Yeah got to kind of agree with that one
Think maybe there are a few situations where it does look great but sometimes things like that added just for the virtual appeal or whatever.
Choice would be a cool thing but that not going to happen for a lot of reasons some valid also of course.
They could always sort of extend marker from knob itself to outside of display or take the issue into account when designing.
Says a lot about human conditioning I guess in that they research this kinda thing extensively and they are doing it for a good reason.
Sadly, many people still associate well it looks cool/real so it must be great lol
Personally I prefer the flat designs mainly also

  6. Come on guys, get with the program! The more realistic the GUI the better the sound. You should all know that by now.

Looking at the GUI pissed me off so that I forgot to comment on the usability, though. :hahaha: Like some GUI fetishist but in reverse.

Stupid or not GUI, I'm a SPL lover but still don't have HW Transient Designer so I find the SW very useful, of course. A workhorse of sorts. All three, or even better just Transient Designer [incorporating all three plugs] are brilliantly useful plugins. I'm thankful to SPL and PA for making them! Interesting though, I find the sustain portion of it somewhat more useful than the attack, for de-verbing and compressor like duties. :winker:

Yeah, Eventide. Just look at those weird knobs, they make my brain bleed... It looks like those knobs are out of place. As if Escher designed this GUI. LOL However, they do sound really good.

For sure!!! Eventide make some real cool stuff & I'm possibly biased on this one lol.
Hmmmm Eventide......Slate lol for me personally only one that wins that.
    However for others :dunno:
Eventide were making proper legendary hardware way before that GUI so they have the right

Same here, Kloud. Those Eventide plugins are magical, regardless the f-up GUI, and HW is the shizz. I'd like to have H3000 to play with but they go for 100000 quid these days. I was like wtf? e-bay, of course. It's for rich b'stards.

U can get stuff cheapish. Eventide is immense. Still is now. The hardware shines imo. The plugins need a bit of catching up but hey I quite like them even if a bit OTP at times :dunno:
I 've used a lot and still have some Eventide hardware but maybe it's just I like that sound :dunno: Maybe it's not.
I hate money stuff but the H3000 etc and even the new hardware they are coming up with is magical.
Of course that could be just simply that I like that stuff who knows
Maybe if I ever try Slates new interface I might change my mind...For 2000 I doubt it.
For others though it could be a god send?
The GUI stuff you mention though is a real issue and it's a hard one. What works for myself maybe doesnt for others.
SPL are real solid though and I think again they make quality stuff through and through.
Whether this is SPL or Plugin Alliance influence etc, etc though I couldn't say as don't know

I was trying to persuade myself the same, but I don't think so. I'm the first one who will say "this sounds just like any other plug" but those guys know their stuff. It doesn't matter at all that they don't employ good graphic designers, I couldn't care less. ALthough it would be nice to see a normal kind of a GUI, but hell - sound is what matters.

I use a bunch of GUIless plugins, speaking of which. GUI just doesn't matter so much to me, although it is really great when the two merge in a really nice plugin. What they still don't get is that with computers you can make your DSP code more usable. Still confining the new ways by old ways. That might work for an oldskool guy like me, for a time being, but people will [are?] demand new, different GUIs that are more usable with a computer. :winker:

As an example just try using Sonic Charge TX16W emulation... you'll go mad, whilst hardware is much more usable. Computer is one thing and hardware is another.

Yes well I am a 70 year old engineer and have to say from experience that if something looks like shit it usually sound like shit. It has always been that way. If a manufacturer does not care how it looks why should we care how it sounds.

Too add to that with hardware if the internal electronics are a birdsnest of wires and bad layout it will probably fall over at some time and then you are completely screwed. Design is not just the electronic or dsp design it is the consideration of the usability, maintainence and the user just felling comfortable using it.

Majik I can see why you are a Newbie. You mix with your Ears, your Emotions, your Experience, to please the client, the visual feedback you get from your enviroinment, what you ate last night, and the way your girlfriend is treating you. Wake up and learn...
