Im looking for a way to share my main out from my DAW with someone over video chat like Skype.

I have managed to set it up with VB Voicemeeter and Skype, but it is only mono and not so good quality.

Are there any solutions out there with stereo at least, preferably with decent bitrate.
Some latency is ok as we dont jam or record over internet. It is just for listening and discussing, using separate DAWs.

We also tried VST Connect, but its just 1 way streaming from 1 DAW.

 

Would something similar to Freecast peer-to-peer node based broadcast solution help you out?

But it looks (sounds) to be great, Source Connect is already well established with studios and international exchange type of jobs.
Now they've got an AAX plugin for Pro Tools and a Chrome based browser version for other DAWs, that seems to be free for the moment..

I use vst connect with Cubase when the need arises.

Hey Guys use Nicecast for streaming out of your daw. PERFECT. Check it out. You select the quality.

 

Seems to be for Mac, Im on PC.

 

I tried Discord. Its pretty good, but only mono. And no video.

 

Really good audio quality and easy to use. However, I can not find a way to use this between 2 DAWs. It seems to be working only between 1 DAW and the VST Connect Performer app.

 

I agree, by far the best solution. But my collaborator is in another country which really degrades the audio quality.
Maybe I need to shout louder?

Thank you. Ive had a look at this. Only what I dont like is
Chrome Browser version 48 or higher. WHY CHROME?
All Chrome Browsers with Automatic Updates enabled are compatible

 

I didn't quite get why vst connect was bad - I mean, if both of you are on cubase what could be better?

About VST Connect, I can not figure out how to connect 2 DAWs with that app. It seems it only allows 1 Daw and the other user only has the "VST Connect Performer app" standalone. Or am I wrong?

 

I use Audiohijack with Skype ....good quality

 

But still in mono, right?
