Hi Everyone, I made a EDM recently, this is my first electric music, I'd like to know what people think about it.

Because I don't know much about EDM (too much sub-genres...) so I don't know if it is a 'Deep House' or what genre, 'Tech House' maybe ?

Feel free to leave any feedback or suggestion, I'll be very appreciated !

    Thank you very much!

sounds like random house, if you ask me.
try to make a song without one single loop and with every voice in the same key and mode.

    Hi! Thanks for your comment!

The key-mode problem come with the chord sound I think, I followed a video that make slightly detuned saw sound play minor chord, and then resample and low-pass it. This make it play every chord on minor, but the video said that's how house music use it. Is it wrong in fact?

That is, in fact, not wrong. The typical chord in house or basically any dub-ish kind of electronic music is the seventh chord in any variation.
The problem lays not in the chords themselves. You have a variety of voices in your track. Bass, chords, some other melodies... they donĀ“t follow neither a clear pattern in terms of chord progression nor do they belong to the same scale. That`s why I called it "random". Also, that`s why I came to the suggestion not to use any loops.

Ok, thank you. These are not loops, the loops I used are the brazilian percussions and the rhode in the middle bridge part. I trid to make things follow the chord (which are all minor) , but maybe stacking too much sound togather is a mistake.
Thank you very much for your help!

Nice track mate, really nice! Actually, as a producer i guess i have more to learn with you than give feedback! How do you make the dynamic range soo over control and all the instruments are still so well mixed together? If i mix my stuff in a way that everything sits right there's ways something peaking on the dynamic range, usually the kick... How you do that?

But let me say something, as a listener, I don't know if I will like to much this track... Sounds kinda like a weird game soundtrack. Aim for the mainstream of some genre, and maybe try to do something innovative, with your skills, you will probably do something great!

And please give me some feedback!

Hi, Thanks for your feedback !

For mixing I side-chain EVERYTHING on Kick, including the reverb channel xd. I also cut most instruments with EQ, the concept is split those instruments on the spectrum. For example I turn down the mid of kick, leave space for other instruments, and cut subbass at 70Hz, for not conflit with kick. For those synths I also boosted or lowered different frequency to split their sound.

If there are two sounds that I can't split them by EQ, I choose to put them in different positions in Panning, and if a short sound is too difficult to be heard, I usually add a 'roomy' reverb on it, then it can be heard by it's tail. Hope those could help you.

For this music I wanted to make a 'Deep House' at the beginning, but because I know almost nothing about electric dance music, so at last it became a wired song as you heard xd. Wish I could improve my EDM skill with you guys in the future !

it feels like too much is going on. almost like two songs play at once? less is more and i think if you maybe let some of the elements give eachother chance like rotate some of the sounds it would work better. i like the funkyness of it. very trippy
