I remember last year kontakt ran so smooth and perfectly added all the libraries, now it seems it does not accept any of the newer libraries and was dissapointed ethno world 6 was not supported/worked. All the newer libs are not brought in normally and functional. There has been no good release in a long time what is going on with Kontakt? Did they give up on it?

 

Kontakt has been working fine for me. If you talk to someone who has ever worked tech support they will probably tell you that 80-90% of the the problems are caused by the user.

 

I have 5.5.2, running great with 99.9% of all 3 TB of libraries

 

no issues with kontak x64 5.5.6 in live , all libraries work , including Ethno World 6

 

Everything working fine here up to the most resent version. Maybe better to re-install and re-establish your libraries. If that doesn't work the only other thing I can think of is that you may have some software conflict happening!

 

You should list OS info, Kontakt version, libraries and error messages if you want help, bud. Unless you just need to rant. In which case, I get it.
Here's a quick way to eliminate the possibility of it being a permissions issue.
Right-click the root library folder e.g Ethno World 6 Complete and select Properties
Security tab > Edit > Add
Under 'Enter the object names to select' type Administrator and hit Enter
Click once on the new Administrator entry under 'Group or user names' and Allow Full Control by checking the box and Apply.
Now just make sure you always run Kontakt or your DAW as Admin.

You could do this for the root directory that contains all your Kontakt libraries but this could take some time depending on size.

 

On Win8 Kontakt works perfectly, but for not having problems is fundamental to activate and use the super-admin mode and not connect it never ever internet.

 

i updated Kontakt 5.6.5 few weeks ago and doesn't work well as the previous version, libraries takes forever to load up, i keep getting errors and missing files.. it's really slowing down my workflow. Never had issues with 5.5.2

 

Running 5.6.6 on Windows 10 x 64 and tbh is working smoother than everyone before.
Have quite a few libraries in tab & loads of 3rd party etc.
Ethno World 6 is 5.6+ strictly speaking but works no problems
Some of the patches are pretty old but many were reworked I believe.
5.6 a huge update which brings loads of improvements for me personally.
As usual depends on what version and other details with regards to installation etc.

I have 5.6 installed fine but EVERYTHING I try to add says you must install the library before I use it. When I install the library it does folder not found when there clearly is ncint file present in the folder. URGH

 

Hmmm, i was try Ethno world 6 and it work just fine with "add library" without need to install anything. With "add library" option, sometimes when you choose folder, you need to be careful, you choose right folder or subfolder. I also use torrent source of that particular library. Also you should make sure you have clean pc from older kontakt stuff, before start above mentioned install process.
