There's like 10 controls! Why are people so obsessed with presets? :dunno:

Are you talking about the presets menu above the reverb knob? They are reverb presets, most likely just different IRs. Unless the reverb is on and the knob is up you won't hear shite.

    Death to presets!!! :break:

+1 haha yeah before i start to use presets in a synth or whatever i study the gui and try to imagine what every knob does. newbie always thinks they can skip that step but its the most important.
and i agree presets for synths are just lame.

Yeah that's a known issue with that one. On the plus side, it's an amazing piano library, in my opinion it has the most character of any I've tried, except for maybe the Imperfect Samples ones...

Step two - Turn the knobs urself...

I don't see why you'd need a preset. There's not a ton of customization you can do, other than balancing mics. I just turn them all on max and call it a day. The only thing I'd suggest is bringing the cutoff filter down a bit because there's a TON of noise in the samples and what makes it worse is that it builds up as polyphony increases. Bring the cutoff down a bit and it'll fix that though.

The most stupid presets must be the presets to the compressor plugins.

Think about it they are designed with the developers audiofile orf say a vocal recording not the customers
audiofile of a vocal recording that may be totally different.

So in many cases using those presets will not affect the audio at all..

Still many people believe it and use them beacuse its there

They believe it is suppose to sound like say "male voice 50th" = Elvis or "Big Kick Drum 70th" = Keith Moon Ludwig kick.

And as i said earlier in many cases it doesnt affect the audio at all..

It`s the presets on a our food blender that I hate!

Like I can`t decide on how many RPM I`d like to use to blend fruit.

Yeah, food processor presets, POO! :snuffy:

    @ Mr. Mister,

Firstly, I don't have neither this 'Cinesamples Piano In Blue KONTAKT', nor even tried to download it mainly due to its somewhat 'gigantic' size...
But what the heck with your assertion :

    !?!

As stated, I don't have this Library, but after I've done some searches here and there, I ended with the conclusion that this 'Piano In Blue' contains a SINGLE Presets (a single .nki) which is precisely named 'Piano in Blue' !!!... and you're able to "...choose the different presets... " (?).
Come on Boy, have you a 'special' extended version of it ? :dunno:

Now seriously, when a Kontakt Library of this kind contains really few Presets (or .nki Instruments to be accurate), or even an only one as is the case here, the Preset(s) contains 'Scripts' (very often complex, or at least full of options) that permit you to tweak the sound with various parameters like : ADSR, Filters, FXs, Convolution Reverb with different IRs,... (just to mention the most frequent !). *yes*
So, if you want that your SINGLE Preset ('Piano in Blue') evolves a few in the perceived sound that you get, simply 'tweak' all the knobs, buttons,... that are available within the Main GUI.

This presets are only for the type of reverb (hence the button is in the reverb section) and they do work.
