I have a book "How to write a book abouta secret of dance music production"

 

There are no secrets...
It's probably decent only if you are just starting with the production.
But don't forget: you may become decent producer, but your music will still suck without good melodies, arrangements, accompaniments.

 

I found out most of the stuff written in these kind of books are just things I already knew how to do, just labelled with a name so they sounded cooler

 

Maybe you should also write a book, but with your own unique labels of terms! "Backtired's Big Book of Secret Bitchin' Dance Music Production".

Seriously though if I was starting over I would watch the video tutorials where they build tracks and build it along with them. Just use your own sounds, chords and effects so it's not copy of it. Be sure to keep in mind that none of these tutorials are law and to just learn the techniques from them. Once you have a toolbox of techniques and skills built up then it's up to you on how you approach each part and situation. I would only read mixing and mastering pdfs. This is also assuming you already have a decent grasp on music theory though

This book was published in 2016. The price is 24 Euros. Relatively cheap. The info in it may have been a secret before it was published but how can it continue to be a secret after 2 years? They should definitely change the title of the book into:

"Some info on dance music that was once a secret for most people but now they know it because they read this book but it's still a secret to you because you haven't bought it so go and buy it it's cheap at 24 Euros."
