Yes, I'm a dummie.

I have Absynth5 "installed" files on an external drive but the files and folders are scattered about. I moved all of the files to my PC and was able to open Absynth(x86) in Reaper but the browser is empty. Can someone help me put the Banks and GLO files in the correct directory? Thanks.

PC is Windows 7 64bit.

 

File > Options > General > Sample Directories, you can point Absynth to the right place. Might solve your problem.

 

If you like to keep your Absynth samples together, put the folder containing all the .wav files in
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Native Instruments\Absynth 5\Samples

Then use File > Import GLO Bank

I set the destination folder for the resulting presets to the default Absynth Sounds directory with all the other .nabs
C:\Users\username\Documents\Native Instruments\Absynth 5\Sounds

if it's such a mess.. maybe better to just start over and reinstall... use an uninstaller app to make sure you get rid of all the
registry entries...

 

Thanks for the suggestions. As I recall, the Attributes tab allowed you to select various attributes from the different catagories and suggested presets would display in the far right pane, true? Might be asking too much to get that feature working. I'll be happy getting all of the samples/banks in their proper place.

 

Attributes allow you to tag the presets. The Browser is where you can sort through them like what you're describing.

If you've located your sounds but they're still not showing in the browser you might just have to rebuild the database.
File > Options > Browser Rebuild DB
You can also add custom directories here with the Add button.
