Also there should be a plate on the back of the D-50 telling you what the power requirement is. as mentioned before the D-50 has an internal powersupply

 

As you can see in the photo he posted, its simply a 240V/AC, 20 Watt...so there's no need for any external power supply. Simply buy a power cord like you have at every desktop-PC and you're done! If he lives in the USA or any other country that have a net-voltage of 110V you do need a voltage converter (110V/AC to 240V/AC). Thats so easy...I really dont know why most of you think this have to be as complicated as rocket science!

 

What I actually meant is that a different 3-pin plug is used in the UK. But I see now that it sounds wrong so I edited the post.

But think for yourself. The power connector at the rear side of the D50 (as shown in the uploaded photo) simply says "connect 230V/AC to me" ... So now if the usual voltage in your country is 230V/AC you can simply connect the D50 to your local plug socket. So far so easy...now you have to go to your local dealer and show him the photo and ask him if he has a power cord with a normal plug (that fits in your local plug socket) and the connector as shown on the photo (in this case an usual C13 jack) ... thats not so difficult. And btw. Its absolutely impossible to go bang!

Come on man it's just a standard 'kettle' IEC cable, you probably have lots of them already, all this fuss over a fucking power cable for a STANDARD UK and lots of the rest of the world 3 Pin socket that they've used since the mid 80s (before that - 2 prong like US/Jap and before that wired straight in).

I just wonder sometimes if the human race is going to die out if left to non self starters like the OP and some of the weird fucked up commentors. IT'S A STANDARD POWER CABLE. PLUG THE FUCKER IN AND USE IT.

This is of course if you are in the UK or a 220-240 v country (the slight difference won't matter).

If you are in the US then open it up and see what the transformer is wired for (taps) it'll be clearly marked inside, and you can resolder the wires to different taps for differnt countries (roland did this on their better synths since the Juno 106). Had 10 of these beauties in my time in the UK. all the same cable, all 240v, kettle lead mcfly, kettle lead.
